Not just reactionary. I've been saying for months, Powell is not a Ross replacement. Yes, he can hit the occasional three but he won't take contested ones and can't make them at a reasonable clip. Additionally his best defense comes against 1s and 2s not 2s and 3s.
We lost a lot of shooting letting Ross go. Even though his inconsistent, just the gravity he creates from beyond the arc provides a lot of spacing. Young as a 41.3% 3PT shooter who makes 2.9 per game could've easily replaced (if not been better than) Ross for reportedly a similar price to Tucker.
