What would the Cavs trade? JR Smith and Channing Frye? Is that better than CoJo, Carroll and Bebe? At least Bebe is still young.

They wouldn't trade anything. He would sign with them after the buyout.

My initial reaction was "hell no," but after doing some quick research, I'd rather have him than Carroll + Joseph + Bebe. If the Knicks would take that, then sure, roll the dice and enjoy the show.

If he gets bought out he's going to CLE (period), so the question is moot even if the answer is no.

Would you rather have Melo at SF or Carroll?

I say Melo 100%

Also, he's been pretty damn good for team USA (looks much better than he does for the Knicks) so I'm sure he can do well with other ball dominant players around him.

This shouldn't even be a question. Having another legit scorer makes this team much more of a threat. I don't think he's stopping the ball anymore than it already does because it just give us another legit option that can demand a double team.
Defending a combo of Lowry, demar, Melo, and ibaka makes it very hard for teams to switch on screens and not get exposed or have a break down somewhere.

If the price is relatively cheap, and we can get rid of Carroll or Jv at the same time, it should be a no brainer.

Honestly anyone that wouldn't take Melo for cheap is just a hater and knows nothing about basketball. If Coach K says he's good enough to play for team USA he's good enough to play for the Raptors.

Pretty sure Greg Popovich will also ask Melo to join the 2017 team so I think I will have to agree with him also.

Yes. Even though he bricks shots as much as Derozan, he'd be a good scorer. How many times have you heard Leo say "When Derozan and Lowry are off, where does the offense come from?" And he's RIGHT for once.

I wonder if having so many ball-stoppers it's like 2 negatives make a positive. If they feel they are even then they have to share or else people with get mad. Since Ibaka also would want shots too. Tucker can just sit in the corner and wait.

I don't why you wouldn't. We are about to max out a 31 year old PG who **** the bed every playoffs. If all comes crashing down, so be it.

And one thing I'll look forward to is one of the greatest offensive players of all time teaching guys like Anunoby (who watches game footage of melo).

Yes. Without the price tag, he would easily become your best 4. He's a better offensive weapon than your favorite prophet still ...

The NBA needs to institute an amnesty style claim, for all players that were bought out of their contract.

Every team has 2 days to make bid. The Highest bid picks up the player, for the amount they bid on him, and the other team pays the difference.

The cap hit for the receiving team, becomes their bid amount.

The cap hit for the other team is 1/2 the players salary, but thier salary isn't included when determining the luxury tax.

Danilo Gallinari. Wilson Chandler. Timofey Mozgov. Raymond Felton. Knicks' 2014 first-round pick. Two second-round picks. $3 million cash.

Fast forward to:

Eat 54 million of Melo's deal and spread it out over 5 additional years... Sweet Mother of G.
Or
Take Valancuinas, Cory Joseph, Bebe Noguiera from the Messiah who held a perfect storm fire sale on line one of my cut and paste.

Would Dolan now choose eating and stringing 54 mil over five additional years in full Karma display? Or go feebly back to Masai and ask that he throw him a bone however meagher?

I mean the Melo choices are a couple of stark options highlighting shocking incompetence. The owner can't be fired, but should, and he can throw Charles Oakley out of the building a million times, but James Dolan continues to be without question biggest moron in sports bar none.
