OT - Rodney Rogers Paralyzed

Post#1 » by qwikdraw » Thu Dec 4, 2008 9:06 pm

Just heard he got paralyzed after an ATV accident. Was a solid NBA pro, former 6th man of the year and always played the raptors tuff (esp when he was on phoneix). Couldn't imagine how hard this could be on anybody....especially an athlete.

They should just ban those things. ATVs are the dumbest things on the planet.

Yeah but you could say that about snowmobiles, motorcycles and dirtbikes, seadoos. It all comes down to people knowing the risks and being smart enough to not see how far or fast or dangerous they can go.

As for Rogers he's a really big guy to be riding one of those things which would make it even more dangerous in his case. It's too bad it happened to him.

That's a shame.

It's amazing how many people have to get injured on these vehicles... Ron Gant, Jay Williams, Monta Ellis, before people stop believing that they're immortal.

Some fun just isn't worth it.

I used to race quads and yes they are dangerous but if you educate yourself before you hop on one they are no more danger than anything.

Best of luck to Rodney

You are whats wrong with society today...
I don't want to get into a huge rant, but people like you, who try to make decisions for other people is what is making life slighty more unbearable every year.

He knew the risk when he got on it, he was a grown man. He probably road them all the time, and had some of the most fun he has ever had on one of those things. It shouldn't be yours, the governments or anyone elses decision on weather or not he should be allowed to ride one.
