Sam Smith: "Iavaroni ... as head coach of the Raptors ..."

Post#1 » by Da_Rap_City » Tue Jan 27, 2009 3:51 am

Don't be surprised to see Iavaroni end up in Toronto with close friend Bryan Colangelo, who was prevented from bringing Iavaroni with him to Toronto. I can see Iavaroni landing on his feet as head coach of the Raptors next season if Toronto misses the playoffs.

I'd say there's more chance he'd be assistant with Pringles than Messina...

Haha if Messina AND Iavaroni end up here, all of a sudden, the Raptors is a largely Italian Franchise.
Colangelo, Gheradini, Messina, Triano (not100% sure though), Iavaroni, Bargnani

Then soon enough, the mob will get in on our games. Threatening to break legs if we don't win.
Someone should make a movie lol
Sandy Gold: "Have you ever waxed?"

Andrea Bargnani: "Uhh remove hair? No, no, no. For what? No, no, no, never. I don't have alot of hair, no. I don't have like hair on the shoulders so I'm cool."

Are we talking about the same Ivaroni that was fired by the Grizzlies? With a career record of 33-90?

I still think of him as a rookie!

He really is basically talentless and uses a basic pre-fabricated, flavour of the month style coaching stlye.

He is not an obvious coaching mastermind and there are some out there for the picking so WHY SETTLE!!!

I'd even say Avery Johnson has more ability than him if you want someone with similar experience.

Name a time recently a team has hired a very inexperienced coach and that team actually has accomplished anything!

To all you Messina fans. Are you liking him or his press. I've only seen him coach 2 games and although he seemed to do a good job...the sample size is not enough for me to tell much, especially since you must factor in the language issue and the lack of NBA experience.

Every Italian is linked to the Raptors. It's like every Dominican being linked to the NY Mets. BC reminds me of Omar Minaya, having a bigger preference for a certain country. Both are douche bags.

Miami hired Erik Spoelstra this year, who was never a head coach before and he's doing a great job with that team, Mike Brown led the Cav's to consecutive 50 win seasons and an NBA finals appearance in his first two years as a NBA head coach, and Byron Scott took the Nets to the NBA finals in two of his first three years as a head coach. Those were the best examples I could think of i'm sure there's plenty more.
