OT - Score Special Presentation Interview with Kobe.

Post#1 » by MoPetefor3 » Wed Feb 4, 2009 8:12 pm

Did anyone just catch the interview at shootaround with Kobe?

There was some woman who asked, and I am summarizing here:

Woman:
Kobe, I know you can speak some Italian. Could you say something mean in Italian to Andrea tonight to make him cry?

Kobe:
.......................Umm, I can try.

Woman:
Kobe, it is felt that superstars are reluctant to play in Toronto, will you play for the Toronto Raptors.

Kobe:
I am not going to answer that because then people will think I am trying to leave LA.

Woman:
What about the cold weather?

Kobe:
I grew up in this weather.

Where do these broadcasters find these people? Do they advertise on Monster or recruit from colleges? I am so sick of these embarassing representations of the Canadian media.

So some other people heard it correct? I thought I was dreaming it or something. Mike Ulmer and her should date.

Imagine Kobe in Toronto, biggest rock star ever. He would own the place.

I didn't get to see the interview but I get the feeling that the woman you're talking about is from CityTV. She asks the dumbest questions...and I remember an interview she did with Alex Rios during spring training last year. She basically kept asking him why "he was so handsome" and it was generally a weird and awkward interview IMO.

The best part is at the end of the piece, some guy said "OK, we gotta get him out of here" and Kobe took off with the guy. It's like the media in Toronto are like little first love teenagers, always looking to give hickies, hickies hickies. Kobe, can I give you a HICKIE?

He already owns LA, which is a slightly bigger deal than Toronto. Not to mention better weather, better looking women, better restaurants, better living accomodations, better franchise, better marketing opportunities, better coach, better teammates, better fans, ..........

Gotta love when people bring people with no knowledge of basketball to interview players.

Smooth. When a so-called "jock" (i.e. sports athlete) owns the hell out of media people who supposedly make their living in print, you know that media sucks.

That said, Kathryn Humphries (I assume it is her) actually has a pretty good knowledge of basketball. She just insists on acting like a ditz all the time.

Love that interview. Sounds like pure jokes. And Kobe went with it. He's always been a great interview.

His popularity would be like Mats Sundin, Tie Domi and (insert other popular Leafs player) rolled into one!!

I caught a bit of a Mark Strong interview the other day with Tony Parker, and it was bascially

Stong-"Hey Tony can you introduce me to your wife?"

Parker-"Umm yeah sure"

Then later

Strong-"Hey there Eva"

Eva-"Hey"

Tony- *wtf*

Cabbies the only good interview in T.O.

I agree, Mark Strong tries too hard to be like Cabbie. Only Cabbie can pull it off. I cant stand him on Courtsurfing, they should be bring back Adnan Virk.

Return to Toronto Raptors
