Leadership

Post#1 » by YoungBuckks » Sat Feb 21, 2009 4:13 am

I was listening to the Fan after the game. I didn't watch the debacle, but heard the outcome.

Funny, it was a couple of puck heads hosting, but they sure knew the answer...

This team lacks any sort of leadership. We blame Bosh, but the team lacks leadership from any facet of the organization. This includes the GM, coaches and ALL players - including the francshise player.

We need people here that want to win for the Toronto Raptors. There's plenty of talent on this team, but no leadership - no one understands the sacrifice.

Hockey is a great sport for this, but so are team sports in general. Kobe, Lebron, KG, Nash, Duncan, Shaq, Wade and Billups; they're all great leaders. You could even think of tier 2 leaders (Rasheed and Boozer) come to mind. Think back on every great team in professional sports and remind yourself of their leader.

Who's our leader? We desperately need one...or for one to emerge.

Tonight was ugly.

We had a potential Leader, but He himself said that this was chris bosh's team and that he wouldn't impose in on that role. Then we got rid of him.

Nah, these puckheads don't know anything about basketball.

They called Wilson Chandler a scrub. I stopped listening after that.

I hate to say it, but Sam was our leader. Remember how we used to joke he was the only guy with balls and who cared game to game? Well it looks like that was more important than we thought.

Or maybe Sam's departure just shows how little leadership skills Bosh and Calderon have
Hi, my name is Jose Calderon. I put up 9 assists a game on 50/40/90 %s while running the most stagnant and lifeless offense in the league and playing league worst defence

Don't tell anyone. It's our secret.

Sam was our leader, and without him our players got exposed, for better or worse.

I don't think Bosh has it in him, the way he carries himself, his personality, nothing about him seems to be able to get the guys around him to do any better. Maybe thats what BC has been lookin for... Someone to step up and DRAG this team forward with leadership.

It could explain why he wanted JO. Now Marion when JO didn't want to step on Boshs toes. Its time CB4 left the building for good. Lets start by re-tooling this team and building with the assets we get from trading CB. With a good pick this year and assets from trading bosh maybe we can get that leader.

100% agreed, this team lacks something that all big teams have and that is FIRE. Everyone is too nice on this team. The only person I see with this fire at times is Graham but he is not in a position to impose his will over the team. We need someone who will give this team some attitude/swagger or what ever you want to label it. TJ ford did in the 47 win season. Last season it was missing when TJ went out with injury and when he came back there was only enough room for one ego and that was Jose's small one, so we traded TJ. We get JO who has the swagger and ego we needed but we were missing the rest of the team and he could not compete with MR NICE GUY, CB4, for touches, playing time ect. It is becoming more and more obvious that Bosh is not a Superstar but just an amazing talent who should be a second option on a championship team.
Players who bring the attitude of winning to their teams.
#1 KG, we all hate him but would love for CB4 to have even have of his grit and determination
#2 Kobe, the dude oozes with confidence,
#3 Tim Duncan, not a vocal leader but this guy does everything at 100%
#4 LBJ, even on a bad game will put 20 points down and play some mean D
#5 Chauncey, look at the turn around this team had when he joined Denver
there are many more than this but these are the biggest ones there are that come to my mind.

JYD was an amazing character guy.... but I feel like he's more of a final piece. We need to shake up the core and then add important pieces to fit in.

JO was a pretty good leader..and we didn't have as many open lay-ups with him on the court

That's not leadership that is him being a stay at home low post player.

Leadership? There aint none!

As I said in a previous thread, we did so well 2 years ago because we had lots of leaders like Mo Pete, Garbo, Rasho and even TJ and Dmurray lol

I was following you until this part. Plenty of talent? Seriously? This team has a whopping total of 3 guys with above-average PERs (4 if you count Humps)... and 9 guys with below-average PERs. No, this team is among the least talented in the league.
Here's the thing about Chris Bosh ... If Joey Graham had longer arms, he'd be just as effective at PF." --SuigintouEV

I never said that was the reason he was a good leader
