Wiretap: O'Bryant Gets A Rare 17 Minutes

Post#1 » by s e n s i » Wed Apr 8, 2009 6:06 am

Is this a joke? I mean--is this wiretap worthy? And am I the only one getting a little kick outta this?

You'd think that with the playoffs just around the corner, and several teams still jockeying for position and others fighting to keep their seasons alive, there would be bigger stories to relay than a total scrub like POB getting a little run. No?

Ah, you done it again Wiretap!

edit* it's actually an excerpt from a Grange piece from tomorrow's G&M, but funny nonetheless imo.

And we still almost won this game. We should play him for 20 or 25 minutes next game, just to be sure.

RealGM is just trying to appease the Raptor majority.

But what's up with the conflicting reports?

Well basically stories like this get run because the Raptors board makes up something like 25% of RGM's traffic. The two reports didn't really conflict, as the first story did specify that POB and Douby would get some more time.

That's classic Wiretap for ya.

Remember at the beginning of the season there were these two headlines right after one another

-Source: Warriors Close To Acquiring Felton

No doubt. I did a double take a second ago when I first saw the headline. I'm still chuckling at the inanity of it.

I wasn't impressed with him at all, IMHO he looked like Pops without the intensity and rebounding.

I can see his potential tho. If he spend the summer working on his strength, we could use some length from him. He's obviously not comfortable with the team given how lost he is on the court, but that could improve over time.

I dunno, if he fills out, at best I can see him as just another finesse big. Our two best players are finesse bigs and Bargs is way tougher than POB. At this point I'd rather have Jawai who could at least develop into a bruiser type of player.

At this point POB prolly a better play than Jawai lol. In any case, I am by no means hyping him up, I could see him as a 3rd or 4th string bigman for us next season. There were a couple of plays today where an atlanta player got near the basket but hesitated to shoot because POB was waiting under the basket trying to swat the ball. Don't forget, this guy has amongst one of the highest wingspan and standing reach in the league, finesse or not he definitely has the tool to be a good shot blocker. Plus the kid is young.

Didn't like when Golden State wasted a high pick on him.
Didn't like when the Celtics tried to give him a chance.
Didn't care when he was traded for King Will.

I think the evaluation is over and Patty O'Bryant can go and sit on another NBA bench next year.

We need need brute force off the bench, not this guy.

Good for Patty. He has to showcase something other than his towel waving ability.
