I kind of read it as though he was answering a general question about shooting guards becoming point guards.

Hopefully he can back-up his words and do well as PG. There are a lot of TJ Ford and Telfair comparisons going around.

um, TJ doesn't belong in the same sentence as Telfair. TJ is a legit point guard and easily top ten if it weren't for his injuries(perhaps as high as 5), Telfair is a bonafide scrub

Don't see how he called them out, but for what it's worth if Evans, Harden, and Derozan go before we pick...I don't mind watching Jennings develop on the Raps roster.

Props to Brunoskull for the sig.

I second that. We need a 2 guard more but its all about the BPA and if those kids are gone Jennings is a no brainer.

Here's to hoping Jennings can regain his top 10 status in this draft so we have an even better chance at a player like Holiday or DeRozan falling to us.

um TJ?! A Top 5 PG if weren't for his injuries. Your kidding right?

I could easily pick 10 PG's in the league right now ahead of TJ.
Paul, Deron, Billups ,Nash, Kidd, Rose, Parker, Rondo, Baron, Harris

And that list is not including PG's like A. Miller, Mo Williams, Jameer Nelson and Jose Calderon which IMO is pretty scary.

And yes, I know Telfair is a headcase and is not in the same 'class' as TJ but don't act like TJ is a bonafide star my friend. Understood?

Brandon Jennings is better then Jrue Holiday. Period. They played against each other in Highschool, and Brandon would embarrass him every single time. Brandon would have been a top 5 pick out of highschool, but was not allowed to enter the draft, and went to Europe instead.

He averaged better numbers in Europe, playing in one of the top leagues in the world, much much much better then the NCAA, in less minutes, then Jrue averaged in the **** NCAA.

Jennings is a much much better player. He is more athletic, quicker, better passer, has better agility. Really the only thing Jrue is better then him at his shooting. Which can be improved.

if Jennings is available at 9, then we draft him. If he falls to nine, he is BPA available. He is better then DeMar, or Flynn, or Evans, or Jrue etc..

The only point guard in this draft better then Brandon is Ricky Rubio. Simply because Rubio is a freak. Crossing and faking Team USA, stripping Kobe, passing one handed lobs over Lebrons head, and just overall owning the Spanish ACB league, the second best league on earth.

I assume you are talking about Rubio.

It's all in this at different times.

Outside of the Olympics, everything is from the Spanish ACB league, a league many times better then the NCAA.

The part where he crosses kid, then fakes Carmelo starts at about 1:57

This guy is pure untapped talent. Will he develop that talent into skill and dominate? That is still to be determined. However he was the number 1 rated high school prospect and the first PG to be the top rated high school prospect in 10 years (According to the RCSI rating on Draft Express).

If I am Raptor brass I take him at 9 if he is available and hope I've put the correct skills development people in place in the organization. Alvin Williams I am looking at you.

Jennings vs Flynn today in Oakland

Post#73 » by Sid the Squid » Thu Jun 11, 2009 8:45 pm

Sounds like Jennings was awfully impressive...I remember how quick he was in high school..

Flynn cant believe how deep the PG position is in this draft...I think he got a shock going up against a pure talent like B Jennings.

Thanks.

Brandon Jennings has, unfortunately, been completely written off on this board. I would be ecstatic if he fell to 9 and we landed a talent like him.

Nice bit of info. Also noticed that they'll be going against each other in Sacramento, along with Holiday:

They’ll see a lot of each other: They’ve got another work-out scheduled for tomorrow in Sacramento, along with UCLA’s Holiday.

Wouldn't that be Jrue's second workout with Sacramento?

I think he will drop to 9 and we'll pass on him.

Would have loved to see this battle.

I hope Jennings impressed and is taken before us.
I have no interest in him at all.
