There was a poster on here during the tournament who was so in love with him that it was kinda creepy.

If he turns out to be like Louis Williams or Ellis, he should be a top 10-12....

He will still be a top 20 pick, and will still surprise lots of people. The reason he has fallen is because although he is the flat out best offensive PG in the country, he is also more like a shooting guard. He is going to take time to develop his passing skills.

People compared him to CP3, because he played PG for Wake Forest, and actually had a MUCH better sophomore season then CP3 did.

Outside of that, he has everything you want from a point guard. Which is why he averaged the best numbers out of any PG in a top 30 school, the best shooting percentages, and had his best games of the season against top schools like Duke and UNC.

As I've watched a few more games i've also become a fan. He just has that natural talent, and I'm amazed at the shots he can make off the dribble. Exactly they kind of guy we need to have the ball in his hands when we need pts.

I'd be thrilled with a louis williams like PG for our team - especially one who's shooting so well behind the arc. I'd rather take what he has now, and believe I can teach him to be a better PG/set shooter, than work the other way around.

For what it's worth here's a few of the smaller SG/PG in the NBA, with Wade at the top and Brooks/DJ at the bottom for comparison:

Code: Select all

Dwayn Wade:     6'3.75"  210 lbs, 6'10.75" w-span,  8'6" v-reach
Rashad McCants: 6'2.75"  201 lbs, 6'10.75" w-span,  8'7.5"v-reach
Jarrett Jack:   6'2.50"  198 lbs, 6'7.5"   w-span,  8'4" v-reach
Randy Foye:     6'2.25"  212 lbs, 6'6.25"  w-span,  8'1" v-reach
Monta Ellis:    6'2.25"  177 lbs, 6'2.75"  w-span,  8'2" v-reach
Eric Gordon:    6'2.00"  222 lbs, 6'9"     w-span,  8'3" v-reach
Stephen Curry:  6' 2"    181 lbs, 6' 3.5"  w-span,  8' 1" v-reach
Deron Williams: 6'1.75"  202 lbs, 6'6.25"  w-span,  8'2" v-reach
Ben Gordon:     6'1.00"  192 lbs, 6'8.5"   w-span,  8'3" v-reach
Jeff Teague:    6'0.25"  175 lbs, 6' 7.5"  w-span,  8'2.5"  v-reach
Aaron Brooks:   5'10.5"  161 lbs, 6' 4"    w-span,  7' 10"  v-reach
DJ Augustin:    5'10"    172 lbs, 6' 3.5"  w-span,  7' 10.5"  v-reach

I'd still be a-ok with picking Teague at 9. IMO he fills more of our wing creating/penetrating dependencies than Evans does.

He wouldn`t be bad off the bench behind Jose and Delfino, but Im not sure how well he could play with Jose. I like his game, but he`s not our future wing player. I was hoping to get someone that could start ahead of (or at least challenge) Delfino.
