I'm going to go out on a limb and say that maybe 4 people on this board have seen more than 5 minutes of either player this season.
9. Similarly, IF THOU HAST SPENT the entire offseason predicting that thy team will stink, thou shalt not gloat, nor even be happy, shouldst thou turn out to be correct. Realistic analysis is fine, but be a fan first, a smug smarty-pants second.

Really, IMHO, Flynn and Jennings are the top PGs for me, followed by Jrue, followed by Ricky, then Steph.
None of them are in the same league as Ricky. Not even close to be honest. Jrue isn't even a **** point guard, the guy is a 2, that they are trying to make a point guard. I mean, the guy averaged worse stats then Ricky did, playing in the NCAA while Ricky is playing professionally in Spain.
I am not biased either. If you read a couple other threads around here, I actually want to pick Jennings at 9 if he is available. I just don't think he will be so I am going with DeMar. It doesn't change the fact that Jennings is the equivalent of trash compared to Rubio.

Jrue is a PG. He was FORCED to play 2 because Collison came back.

Re: OT: Jennings on Rubio: "I think the dude is all hype"
Well I for one saw 4 or 5 Lottomatica games this year, and let me tell you, Jennings looked completely and totally lost. Most of the time he was on the court, he was either standing around doing nothing or trying to go 1 on 1 and driving wildly to the basket (without much success). I didn't see any of Rubio's games but he couldn't have looked worse.
Anyway, Jennings is the one who needs to prove himself, not Rubio. Jennings needs to boost his stock, which is justifiably falling after his thoroughly underwhelming season in europe. Jennings, who needs workouts to boost his stock, is doing workouts, while Rubio, who doesn't need to boost his stock and doesn't stand to gain anything by it, isn't doing them... funny how that works. That never happens!
I can't say I'm surprised with Jennings' comments... his coaches in Europe have said that he is too much of a 1 on 1 player and often struggles with 5 on 5... of course he's going to place importance, and expect others to place importance, on 1 on 1 workouts.

Here's the thing about Chris Bosh ... If Joey Graham had longer arms, he'd be just as effective at PF." --SuigintouEV

Jennings explaining his statement
viewtopic.php?f=24&t=913182
He is just mad Rubio is not working out for anyone while even Griffin worked out for the Clips. He does not understand why him, Curry, Holiday, Lawson and Flynn compete against each other while its just assumed Rubio is the #2pick. I don't think he actually believes Rubio sucks, he just wanted the chance to face him to raise his stock and is calling him out for not having the balls to face other top PGs.

It's not Rubio's call whether he works out or not. The kid has been held ransom by his parents, his teams and now his agent. Calling him out like that because you're bitter after a **** year in Europe isn't really fair.

The Raptors need toughness and intensity, not mouth and ego. Brandon Roy is complete killer on the court, as is Chris Paul, it doesn't stop them from being thoughtful, respectful, professionals off of it. Not that Jennings is a proven headcase or anything, but this is another in series of small red flags around him that make you wonder a tad about his matureity.
Still, by all accounts he handled riding the bench in Europe fairly well, so he's at least not a problem in locker room or court (so far).

I won't sound like I know either player THAT well.
I know as much as the casual Euro fan who hears the odd word, reads the odd report, and goes from the general consensus.
WITH THAT SAID...
Jennings is coming across as nothing more than an over inflated pompous doucheturd.

At this point they are both "all hype".

Not really, no. Rubio has performed at a very high level against a very high level of competition for years now. He was a main cog in Spain's silver medal run and in the case of the China game he's the only reason they won. He single handedly brought them back. Jennings on the other hand dominated a bunch of scrubs in high school, then failed to even get off the bench against the same competition Rubio was excelling against (and had been excelling against since he was 16) with a broken-then-healing wrist.

It would be interesting to know where Flynn and Jennings would be in the mocks if he had a workout with Rubio and other point guards. Right now I agree with Jennings that Rubio is number 2 because of hype while the other PGs in this draft are busting their balls to impress the scouts.

I haven't seen Brandon Jennings play..but i gotta say one thing. He's real lol. Sure he was not politically correct, but he says what he thinks and does what he wants for the most part. How many kids have gone straight from High School to a European league? Way to shove it to the NCAA's. And He donated 50K after the earthquake. He just needs a little bit of maturity, but he seems like he's a good guy who's upfront and honest to a fault

Uh, pretty much everyone else in those European leagues? And I mean Rubio was in the second best league in the world while he was in high school.

So what you are saying is scouts can't analyse his game based on what he did against olympic caliber teams, or that there are no European scouts?
Also, please provide a link which states these pg's held back. I am no Ricky fan, but to say he is all hype is crap.
He is all hype in the sense that folks are talking like he's already HOF. He needs to proove that by actually playing some NBA games first. I'm sure he'll be good, but will he be great?

imo the only question is who long will it take for Rubio to adjust his style of play to the NBA? As a big fan of international ball, I know it is SUCH a different game (for better or worse) to what we see in the NBA. Considering how young Rubio is, it might actually take a season or two for him to really get it going. But again, he's so young he's got all the time in the world.. I think Jason Kidd-like potential is definately there eventually.

I see more Jason Williams in Rubio than Jason Kidd. Jason Williams was so fun to watch.

Yeah, I know all that, (except the wrist part), but that's kinda my point. Because of all his accomplishments, expectations are really high. So he has to "live up to the hype".
Jennings, who has proven nothing in the nba yet either, despite his big talk, expectations will be lower than Rubio. Every draftee is hype until he prooves otherwise. That's what I meant.
