Boozer not Opting Out

Does this make Detroit more likely to go after a player like Marion or Turk or Ariza?

No, Detroit will probably go after Gordon or Millsap.

OUCH, so Millsap is gone for sure unless they want to pay major tax. I'd laugh so hard is Boozer goes out with injury 2 games in. I hate Utah. Would be poetic how Boozer screwed the Cavs, and now could potentially screw the JAZZ. HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA.

If someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you can’t SnT a RFA (Millsap) for Bosh.

If I'm the Jazz, I'd salary dump Boozer to Pistons or Thunder to make room under luxury tax to re-sign Millsap. It's actually a pretty good deal for Pistons or Thunder, if he doesn't work out, you can dump BOOZ at the trade deadline, or let him expire and still be in good position for 2010 free agency bonanza.

Pretty sure the Thunder is going after Millsap as well so I don't think they have any intention on helping the Jazz.

Jazz can always match for Millsap since he is restricted, which will make a salary dump of Boozer an option. The question is I guess, is Boozer for 1 year attractive for Thunder or Pistons? Like I stated previously, I don't see any downside in the short or long term, unless Booz is severely injured.

Well, seeing as the Thunder has more cap-space, I think they'll out-bid the Jazz for Millsap.

If i'm the Jazz I'd go into Luxury tax for a season or two (until Harpring, Korver and ak47 expire) to keep Millsap. But maybe that's because I like Millsap alot.

Going into the luxury is something that GMs avoids to do and for a season or two is a lot. It isn't our money which I know we don't really care, but GMs care about every dollar they spent. I am sure the Jazz can lure some legit free agents if they wait...

Not surprising. Looking at the economic situation and the teams that have cap space, it may be more lucrative for Boozer to bum around Utah for one more year. More options and hopefully a better economy.

BTW, he lives in Miami and one of his children is sick. Miami can afford him next year after JO's contract ends.
Two years from being two years away.

i was really surprised by this move, boozer would have been the among the top free agents this year, and could have really got paid.......i cant see him getting the same money next summer.
