Joey was the nicest guy on the Raps. And as much as you can blame him for not developing his game, I'm sure the organization messed up along the way too.

Best of luck in Denver Joey!

Okay really, this is just plain weird.

Denver and Toronto swap Sonny Graham for Joey Weems and both excel in the preseason on thir respective new teams because of their hustle.

There's gonna be some mighty confused casual fans this year in both cities.

Somewhere, Stephen Graham is glowing.

I doubt he'll be guarding the best PG in the league in the playoffs...

Yeah, he always seemed decent as a small PF, and that's what his role probably will be in Denver with strong perimeter players like Billups, JR SMith, and Carmelo. With those three playing, there's no way he'll be asked to play as much on the perimeter. He could be a good fit.

Joey's always been a superstar in practice. This news doesn't surprise me.

Joey has always been a very good practice player, so i'm not surprised that Karl likes him. Its when he gets into games that you figure out he doesn't know what he's doing.

I think George Karl knows a little more about basketball than you do.

Karl probably hasn't known him as long or seen him as much as we have

I thought Joey was one of the bright spots last year.. He became a solid defender for the most part and played tough hard nosed ball... I thought he was showing signs of improvement under Triano.

He will likely become what I always thought he was in Denver and that is a very capable backup who can fill in for an injured starter and perform well.

I am noticing that alot of our players seem to be doing alright around the league.. Moon has remained a decent player, Parker is getting raves in Cleveland, Hump is getting raves, Delfino is performing well and now Joey.

Perhaps just once its time for us to focus on our key players as the problem and not those around them.

Hard to say Moon has remained a decent player when he was pretty bad in Miami and as far as I know he has yet to suit up for Cleveland.

I'm still not convinced we really traded Joey. I just think he stopped smiling. I think when he's not smiling, he's Sonny. When he smiles, he's Joey. It's all very spooky.

Why does Weems look airbrushed?

good for Joey

it's already a shame to see that an NBA-ready body built like that hasn't been utilized yet, hopefully George Karl can make the most use of it.

Joey always impresses before the season. He even started the first couple of games of his rookie year. When it gets into a real five on five setting, his limitations show. He's a nice back up to Carmello though.

I was pretty confident that he'd make people forget Kleiza.

I think that his job as Dahntay's replacement will simply be to hammer the opposing top wing a couple times in the first quarter, leak out for a few easy layups and then sit down with two fouls at the 7 minute mark.
