Will our 3 point streak end this year?

Post#1 » by augustine » Fri Oct 23, 2009 4:44 pm

The Raptors currently own the record for most consecutive games with at least one made three. Having lost Kapono and Parker, and having had questionable three point shooting in the pre-season, we need to consider the possibility that the streak will end this year. However, we still have some good 3 point shooters. Will the streak end this year. Sadly, I vote yes.

I hope so. As long as our 3 point streak is alive, our 3rd round playoff drought will remain. We need to break that curse.

Of course. Belinelli will singlehandedly make sure of that. Chris is also trying to expand his 3pointer game for some better or worse, and we can't forget Bargs.

Rasho will be subbed in to the game if the streak is in jeopardy and he will make it rain.

I think so...Bellineli is a streaky shooter, not a consistent spot up guy like AP, Kapono were.

Jose and Bargs are still here but Bargs seems to be limiting the amount of threes he takes, opting for a pump-fake drive or step back mid range. Jose doesnt shoot enough to be a guy that we can rely on to keep that streak alive, and the rest of the roster is filled with inconsistent outside shooters.

I think the streak will still be intact by the end of the season. I predict Andrea getting atleast one 3pointer a game, let alone Belli, Jose, Turk, Wright, Jack, Douby (in garbage time), or even the odd one by DD or Bosh.

I think the 3 point streak will stay alive, the Raptors have a lot of good 3pt shooters.

I think so. I think this team will struggle shooting 3s without any corner three point shooter (unless Belinelli gets 25+ min a game, which won't happen)

Good point KwameBargnani. I have noticed the corner three problem as well. This is especially problematic because one of Turkoglu's greatest strengths last year was the drive from the side of the arc, draw the extra defender, and kick it to the open guy in the corner. Oh to have Parker back.

No, we're signing Darrick Martin to keep the streak alive.

No, too many of our guys rely on the 3-pointer in their offence so that record will continue. Plus with Turk, we have more drive and kick action which should hopefully result in more open threes.

What's the streak at anyway? How far behind is Dallas?

I hope not. It's the only thing we have going for ourselves as a franchise.

*Note: This video is full of grammar and spelling errors, and even spells Martin's wrong at the end when they are giving him props. If anybody cares about that sort of thing, lol.

Thanks for this. The old original Swirsky call of Martin's shot has been taken off YouTube.

We should retire his jersey just for that one play. I'll never forget that game because of it.

This is a stupid streak. Sort of like the most consecutive receptions in a football game streak. Just too easy. Almost every team in the league is going to go the entire year with out missing a game.

A few things I don't care about. The three point streak and the Jose FT record.

I want to win and I don't care about anything else. If we accomplish some records along the way fine but right now I don't give a rats patooty about these dumb streaks and records.

No. However, for a team that wants to & will be playing the transition game quite frequently, we don't have enough three-point shooters on this team, so yeah, I don't think our transition game will be that effective.
