Grange: DeRozan not an upgrade over Parker

Now? There is no way DeRozan is an upgrade, not yet. One of Sam Mitchell’s Samisms was that the ball will always find the guy in the place where he’s least likely to do some good with it. “It’s amazing the way that ball finds you,” he said.

DeRozan shot 16.7 per cent from the college three-point line at USC last year. He’s shooting 27.3 per cent from the NBA line through eight exhibition games, and 41 per cent over all.

My guess is that opposing defences are going to run away from him and force him to be the guy shooting late in clocks. If I were him I’d be nervous about that.

No **** he's not an upgrade yet he hasn't even played 1 single NBA game.

I have no idea how this warrants an article, and I am clueless as to why Grange has a job as a journalist.

I see Turkoglu/Calderon taking on more of the corner shooting role, depending on who's handling up top.

Hopefully Demar can stick to working the baseline.

Grange, Grange, Grange.

Really? This what you sent to the editor today?

A green rookie over a seasoned vet?

Demar is going to be one hell of a player, but he needs some time.

No sh*t sherlock. But Turkoglu + Derozan is certainly an upgrade over Parker + Moon.

because Grange has become the proverbial pisspot. all he does is find something to moan and cry about and he turns it into a blog or article.

Man, nobody in his right mind would have expected DD to be a better three point shooter than Parker, although I note that both AP and MOOn made unimpressive contributions last night to the Cavs. As a matter of fact, DD can keep defences honest by taking a couple of steps in and hitting mid-range shots, and if challenged, beat his man along the baseline.

If the Cavs overuse AP, and the Delonte West sad saga may force that, I think the Cavs will be disappointed in his ability to match even last year's performance, which was a downgrade from his two previous. I've expressed great admiration for AP as a man and as a spot contributor, but not playing big-time minutes.

I think Grange is awesome. He has a bright future but there's no way Derozan is ready to start, and everyone here (should) know that.

You guys don't like Grange because he has something negative to say sometimes, but he';s being honest and insightful. His articles are rarely off-base and inflammatory (like Feschuk). His article about Colangelo/Bosh/130mm was actually pretty fresh relative to the usual stuff that gets recycled. Mayb eless so for us, but for the average fan it would be HUGELY different from what he/she can read from Smith/Feschuk/HollyM/whoever.

the fact that we downgraded at the starting 2-guard position (while keeping the 1,4 and 5) from a 33-win is significant.

That has me laughing uncontrolably lol.

But I don't how a rookie can be even compared to someone of AP's status. Maybe eventually DeMar can be considered an upgrade but not now. In some aspects of his game he can be an upgrade though. DeMar is more athletic, so he can jump higher and maybe run a bit faster.

Nothing is wrong with what he said and I don't think anyone has a problem with it. It's just so blatantly obvious that it doesn't even need to be stated, in a paper article nonetheless. The fact that you even bothered posting it with the title, as if to insinuate Grange is losing his head (which I think he is, sometimes) and to stir the pot a little, is unnecessary. Because why bother posting it if it's so obvious and nothing is wrong with it?

I don't get.

Who cares????

Wright is the rightful starter, and will get the position eventually, and we won't lose games if DD misses a couple of jumpshots.. We usually lose because this team can't defend the good teams in the NBA...
