First game. Nice debut.

Blocked Shaq, Had a steal and stuck his jumpers.

I just wish the coach let him play a bit longer.

He will be a great one.

Peace

Good game for Derozan :) but like its been said, he went cold after he went to the bench. I like waht Triano is doing though, getting him to play intense before he plays major minutes. Watching him the first qurater, for a moments there I was soo excited, this is our SG for the future folks :D

I really like DeRozan's first game. He grabbed rebounds with authority. Played solid D. Scored efficiently. What else do you want from him at this stage?

8/5/1/1/1/ on 3/5 shooting (1 of his shots was a 90 foot hoist at the end of a Q) and 2/2 from the line in 23 minutes. great start.

The way he played defense, it wasn't even like a rookie.

Good game, I liked his boarding ability, and his shot is underrated. I really liked his drive to the rim in the 1st half, nice to see. Also liked his hustle and his block on Shaq, that was sweet. Ver excited to watch him grow with the Raps, same as before.

HAHA.

I was watching and thinking WTF did DD just block Shaq?

Haha! I watched that play develop, from the point when Bargnani was fronting Shaq to the lob pass. I saw Derozan sliding over and thought "Oh no kiddo, don't try to block it, they're not going to let you get away with it no matter how clean it is." Then he blocked it and no whistle came and I could only laugh and laugh.

This is exactly how I envision his game for the early part of the season. Good rebounding & at least average defense. He was opportunistic offensively and took what was there.

As the season progresses, hopefully he grows into his role so that he's playing down the stretch in the 4th.

It's a good start.

DeRozan is going to be a special player. A few years from now, rookies will be pegged as the next DeRozan.

Lol so much homerism in this thread. Let me join in.

Nice first game I see him as courney lee type with less range in his rookie season but ya I really like his commitment on defense and rebounding exactly what we need from the sg spot. I like his ceiling as well, this is going to be a very exciting season.

Definitely liked what I saw. Played D, Hustled, knocked down some shots, got to the line and rebounded.

Solid game for the rook. Looked so confident shooting the jumpers and I loved how active he was on the glass. I can see the Caron Butler-esque potential in that I think DD's game is very similar.

I had an orgasm watching him. He's going to develop into exactly the player we need.
