Chris Bosh...Rebound leader!?

Post#1 » by L3M0NAD3 » Wed Nov 4, 2009 8:24 pm

I was just browsing the individual stats for this new NBA season and I stumbled across a surprising stat.
Chris Bosh so far leads all players in Rebounds per game so far.

REBOUNDS RPG
1. Chris Bosh, TOR 14.7
2. Gerald Wallace, CHA 14.0
3. Dwight Howard, ORL 13.3
4. Tim Duncan, SA 12.7
5. Al Horford, ATL 12.

Now I know this season is only 3 games old, but do you think that Chris Bosh can maintain this and finish in the top 3-5 in rebounding this season considering it is his contract year?

Chris has carried our offense, our rebounding and he's the best defender in the starting lineup, unless he gets some help quickly he's going to fade.

I'd say it would be a massive success if Bosh averaged 12 rbs for the season but I'm not sure how good that makes Bargs look considering I don't think Bosh is an "elite" rebounder.

Expect for Rasho to take rebounds from Bosh and the rest of the team once the latest firmware on his Defensive Awareness chip has finished downloading.

No, I doubt it, he was leading the league in rebounding during the 06-07 season for a while too too but then slowly tailed off. I think the added bulk will allow him to sustain his great rebounding for longer but I don't think it's maintainable.

Chris has every attribute needed to be a top 3 rebounder in the NBA, if he wants to be up there is up to him.

I can't help but stare at that list and think we could've had Wallace for TJ Ford.

The best attribute being that on the team he plays for, the next best rebounder is averaging 5 boards a game.

I think its more of a will issue over skill. He has the skills/attributes needed, its on him mentally to maintain that, even during tough stretches. It's the mental toughness that needs to be there, along with his added physical toughness to go with this added size.

Contract year for Chris Bosh who is hoping for Max Contract (80+ million range) = 12 rebounds a game this year. DONE DEAL.

I don't see Bosh maintaining 14.7, but he'll certainly finish in the top 5 with around 12 RPG IMO if his teammates can pick up the slack.

Lol, how is this surprising? If you watched the last 3 games, you'd know that Bosh would be up there. The most surprising stat is, Bosh also leads the league in 3pt% at 100%

But it's easy when your C and SF leave you more boards to grab.

I wouldn't be surprised if the norm for second best rebounder on teams is around 5

Why the green font? Playing with crappy rebounders will obviously help him grab more boards.

doesnt need to "hope" for a max contract, barring some unforeseen horrific injuries its guaranteed. I think its the raptors hoping that he would stick around for the max lol

I don't think it'd be that low. Could be wrong, don't feel like looking it up.
