I'm confused, doesn't our defence revolve around clogging the paint? If we aren't expecting their players to drive, and we aren't guarding them from shooting the ball, what exactly are we doing on defence?

That, by its definition, is not a tomahawk. He didn't even cock it back.

Of course it's not - but exaggerating is par for the course on this board - 'specially for the kiddies.

It's hard to see what Andrea was doing in the corner, but there must have been a man he was on. He was late recovering since it was from such a distance, but had Bonner brought the ball back even a little, like most players do for a dunk, Bargs had it lined up for a block.

Give Boner credit for A) blowing by a faster wing player and B) ducking the ball under the reach of the defense at the last moment.

Who was Bargs covering at the time?

Bonner set a screen for Jefferson under the basket. Bargs was covering Bonner, Wright was on Jefferson. They didn't even try to fight through it but switched immediately, something the Raptors D usually accepts way too passively. Jefferson got the ball on the corner fronting Bargnani, while Bonner went out to the 3-point line to free up space. Wright then moved too far from Bonner in order to help out on Jefferson who had put the ball on the floor. RJ recognized it quickly and swung the ball to Bonner. The rest is history (Wright recovered on Bonner but was caught off-balance and easily beat off the dribble, Bargnani didn't react quickly enough and couldn't rotate in time to stop him, while Belinelli just couldn't do anyhing and is not at fault here).
Poor D by the Raptors, both individually and team-wise. Nothing too surprising there. Also a nice play by Bonner, though.

Helluva post. If the Bonner dunk and the events you describe leading up to it end up being an appropriate metaphor for this whole season, then you'll have written the quintessential post that rendered the other x00,000 posts on the Toronto board over the year superfluous.
