Add an established veteran .. before it's too late

Post#1 » by Live Free » Sat Nov 14, 2009 9:50 pm

The Raptors are easily one of the most inconsistent teams in the league, and I don't think there's anyone here on the board who knows what to expect out of them heading into a game.

We're capable of competing with the best of teams but at the same time we lose "easy" games. Losses vs Memphis, Orlando without Carter/Lewis/Pietrus, San Antonio without Duncan/Parker .. we also seen that last night going down 22 vs a Clipper team without Gordon/Griffin

Looking ahead we got the Suns, Jazz, Nuggets.. then come home to the hot Heat and Magic

to close out the month we're on the road vs the Celtics, then come home to play the Suns again... to start out the month of December we're on the road vs Atlanta, Washington, and Chicago

We need someone with credentials who'll have the ears of our players and make sure they're ready to perfom on a high level every game before its too late..

because in January we got the Celtics twice, the Magic, Spurs, Lakers, Cavs, Mavs, Sixers, and Heat.. all waiting to put us in a hole that we can't climb out of by the trade deadline highlighted by Chris Bosh.

If I were BC a person i'd have on my radar is James Posey

Banks and Weems for Posey.

This would cause a huge logjam at the wing positions.

hedo is a vet but he isn't your ideal one.. we need one like James Posey who won rings with the Heat and Celtics (Who really miss him).. the perfect rotation player who plays defense and knows what it takes every night.

I highly doubt Hedo brings those qualities .

There's more to it than that... don't make me have to explain it, you should already know assuming your basketball iq is average

Well, they might miss the James Posey they had 2 years ago, but that is not the James Posey they would be getting back today (or the Raps would be getting).
9. Similarly, IF THOU HAST SPENT the entire offseason predicting that thy team will stink, thou shalt not gloat, nor even be happy, shouldst thou turn out to be correct. Realistic analysis is fine, but be a fan first, a smug smarty-pants second.

Explain that paying $7 million for James Posey for his top notched leadership abilities is worth it? Because he's not producing anymore than any of our wings and he's only getting worse.

True but we we'd benefit most from his demeanor, Posey is a winner ..dating back to him being a key player on a 50 win team Grizzlies.

besides, Posey is just someone from the top of my head.. the point is we need a glue guy

+12

posey isn't exactly that steadying veteran presence. i'd say that would have been garnett, ray allen, or paul pierce.

I wish the Raptors picked up Big Ben. Dude is like his former self in Detroit grabbing all those boards.

You know what would be ridiculously fun?

Ben Wallace vs. Reggie Evans one on one.

It'd be nice to have your glue guy not waste a roster spot and be almost useless for 7 million dollars.

His 34% FG would look awfully nice in a Raptors uniform.
