Will BC be back after this contract?

Is it the end of the BC era after this contract?

I want him back, but I don't think he re-signs.

Will BC be back after this contract?

Post#1 » by MEDIC » Thu Nov 26, 2009 5:29 am

I recently read an article that suggested that Bosh was not our only big free agent at the end of this season. BC is allegedly also at the end of his deal (he signed a 5 year deal in Feb 2006).

I am not sure why it hasn't been discussed very much, but it obviously also has a huge impact on the team going forward.

Just wanted to get the feelers out there on how people are looking at the GM situation next year. Do you want BC back, or are you hoping that we go in a new direction?

Ye$, he will.

As much as I've questioned a lot of his moves, there's sill no better option out there.

I've tried finding something on the internet, but so far have come up short. Help please.

I do recall reading (the TO star I believe) that his deal runs out.

He signed on in Feb 06 (allegedly a 5 year deal). Technically, it means he is done in just over a year.

I keep confusing you two with the House avatars.

BC will be back. He makes money for MLSE and he hasn't really done anything to get fired. When you make money for MLSE, you don't get fired for not winning.

Yeah.....I've let Avenger get away with his mimicry so far.

I guess it's kind of flattering to have a mini-me.

Now, if was somebody else.......

Kind of agree with the point that there really isn't much else out there. We're stuck with him... it could be worse, though

I think he would be lacking brains (balls are not relevant in this business) to trade Andrea when his value is so low. Signing and trading Bosh on the other hand...

Our best bet at this point might be BC walking out on his own terms when his contract expires..

I love Grunwald......but would I have liked him as much if we hadn't gotten lucky with Carter?

Bosh was his second best player.

By the time his contract expires, it'll be what, five/six years by then?

If, after next season, we're stuck in the same position, I think we should just look elsewhere. So I don't think BC returning is (or rather should be, which is admittedly quite different) a lock at all. And the money excuse is weighing a bit thin, because if this club continues to look superbly mediocre, the crowds will stop coming like they have before.

And if anything, BC is just wasting MLSE's money at this point with the contracts he's given out and the money we owe to Smitch (and may end up owing JT).

Bosh was his second best player.

I would argue that T-Mac in his last year with us had as much of an effect on winning as Bosh does.

I guess my point is, the best player in the Grunwald era was Carter (therefore we were more successful in the "Grunwald era").

The best player in the BC era is Bosh (not really sure what to say about that...).
