Jazz "fans" give Corbin a thank you card

Post#1 » by StocktonShorts » Tue Apr 15, 2014 12:20 am

I'm not sure why we're giving a card to this guy. Didn't we pay him millions to underachieve with the current roster? I sincerely doubt this was organized by fans without any organizational support.

A rational organization would've fired his ass 6-8 months ago.

I really don't get what's going on here.

This is just clueless fans looking through their Jazz goggles. It is hard to face reality when wearing them.

Soon to be followed by the Cavs' thank-you card to Andrew Bynum and MoveOn.org's thank-you card to Dick Cheney.

As a response to the despicable Wikipedia vandalism, this gesture makes more sense.

Still seems weird for the organization to publicize it.

Somebody should go on wiki and say he got fired.

Yeah...since less than 50% of SLC is mormon...

Any background on what was put on the wiki?

It started with sophomoric jokes about Corbin's coaching ability and escalated to rather disgusting and obscene slander. Pretty awful thing to do honestly.

Probably a screen cap somewhere but I don't think it should be posted here.

I wouldn't call it slander since it was so obviously fantasias, but it was certainly juvenile.

I think there is a misunderstanding. It wasn't supposed to be a "thank you" card - it was supposed to be a "tank you" card, reminding him what he was supposed to be doing.

The real decision the Jazz FO is making is between Continuity, Cap Flexibility, and Cash Considerations.

It was a classy way of saying, thanks but no thanks we're ready to move on.

Like nearly everything else this season, it was just odd.

I actually feel bad for Corbin. Sure, he just isn't cut out to be a successful NBA head coach, but the guy was given lemons and he wasn't even sure if the management wanted lemonade (we know that the fans didn't), even though that is what the coach and players strive for. I put most of our gripes about Corbin (particularly relating to which players he played) on the owners'/management's shoulders. By all accounts, he is a nice man. He sure has handled this season with grace and class, particularly as he has to be nearly certain that he will be canned within the next week or two.

Honestly I don't think it would much of a difference if Corbin didn't show up for the last month of work, or for the last game. If we just had Lowe do the rotations and call the time outs, we would be better off without Corbin. I rather let a loser Head Coach with experience coach the team, rather than a loser Assisstant Coach with no HC experience.
