The Enes Kanter Thread

Post#1 » by Luigi » Sat Jul 12, 2014 9:06 pm

2014-2015 is the last year of his rookie contract, his payday year.

We could extend him, maybe trade him, or let him go to restricted free agency. How much are you willing to pay for an extension? How much would you be willing to match in free agency?

How well do you expect him to play this year?

Extend him. We've already seen what happens when we let players get to be RFA's and UFA's. If we get him for 10M It'll be a steal. Same with Alec.

If he will take a 10M extension, I'd do it.

But I think he'll want max. He next summer he might be able to get that. We can max him now, or max him later. If it's going to be the same money, we can max him later.

Do you think he'll give us a discount for an extension now?

And that is why the whole thing with Gordon is frustrating. ALthough.....no way he deserves to make more than Favors. At least not yet.

Neither did Maximum Gordo

I don't necessarily want to have two stickied threads for Kanter and Burks. Should we combine them into one?

I figured they'd both have very different ups and downs to talk about their games, and it'd be better the keep them independent. Especially if one gets extended and the other doesnt. Either way though

I would suggest keeping them separate. I see no reason why they should be together.

I agree After they see how Favors got hosed and how Hayward hit the lottery, Kanter and Burks are going to hit the open market like Hayward.

http://www.rotoworld.com/recent/nba/1831/enes-kanter
Enes Kanter said [25 June] that the platelet rich plasma injection in his right knee was a success, and he expects to have a "short and easy" recovery.
The initial timetable for his full recovery was two weeks. He will not play for Turkey in the FIBA World Cup beginning in late August but that's simply a precaution, and he'll be ready to go for Utah's training camp. Kanter averaged 12.3 points and 7.5 rebounds in under 27 minutes per game last season, though his fantasy value was limited by a dearth of steals (0.4) and blocks (0.5).

Anyone heard about how he's doing since then? It's been over 2 weeks now.

We extend Burks now, and wait and see and maybe trade Kanter by trade deadline!

Under Snyder this will be breakthrough season for Kanter and this could cause some problem in next summer, i think he will get max contract but not Hayward max, Georges max

The biggest question for me is whether Kanter and Favors can play together.

The precedent has been set. No matter how this year goes for Kanter ... He will demand the max and he will get it. If your not going to trade him (they should have did that along time ago) then you minus well give him the cheaper max now. Same goes for Burks.

theoretically they are perfect fit, Kanter is strong and have some range/great post moves, Fav is athletic and great in def good coach will definitely learn them how to be effective when together on floor.

This is totally overblown, the architect of playing these two is gone (Corbin's history),now their is a new style coming to Utah.So far all words uttered from the players now practicing his more freedom.
Both Kanter and Favors have said they can play together and want to play together. Kanter has already shown he has a 17'jumper ,Favors has shown is game isn't restricted to the paint .One just turned 22 the other 23,their going to be hard to keep off the backboards .Every game there's 20 plus rebounds from these two. They deserve a season playing together.
