Earl is a leader and a great mentor who doesn't need playing time but will be the veteran leader to keep the team gelling.

I find it kind of baffling that we're getting multiple threads about how we need to sign Earl Watson. Out of genuine curiosity: could we add a poll to this iteration?

For what it's worth, we still need to spend around $750K the reach the salary minimum. So we do need to sign at least one more player to hit that.

I wouldn't be object to signing Earl. I think offer him a contract with the implication that there'd be a coaching spot available for him when he retires from playing, and we could probably have him.

I have said this exact thing before. I won't be upset if we go another direction, but he expressed an interest of wanting to be the head coach. Hayward would be happy. He won't take minutes. He will be a positive influence. He can get instructions from Quinn and take the guys to the side and do little drills together. I see a ton of positives and not a ton of downside.

My only reason to believe they might not is Dennis seems to be bringing in guys who work hard. It seems both the recent signings and trades are guys who are known as hustle defensive players. I am willing to bet these guys are there to push the main guys in practice and leave a little doubt in the back of their mind regarding playing time. I think if someone is not hustling we will see those guys inserted to play. I like this strategy if I am accurate in my assessment. And if that is the case they will not bring in Watson. And if they want him to coach........just offer him a position.

We still have 7 million or so in cap space, I think the Jazz are still positioning for moves.

Just add him as an AC

Why waste our cap space on him just to sit on the bench

Just get Raul Nieto over here ,he needs to learn the offense in case Burke is assigned to the 2nd unit and wants to be a starter.....Unless the Jazz think Burke will worry the hand writing is on the wall for him if Nieto is in camp

John Crotty is another target.
