I will get back to this Sunday or something. A lot going on and it's a lot of information.

Does anyone have a favorite thing to track that I can focus on?

I think I will continue with the awards section and the coaching and the leading section. The rest I have to make a choice on.

I might do game by game but only compile every ten games or so.

It's a lot of work with little input on what others like or don't. For all I know, two people look at it and the rest ignore.

I'm not trying to beg for a compliment, just trying to find where I could keep something interesting going on versus just a big blob and time spent.

My advice would be to cut a bit of fat. I don't think team records are that interesting, so that might save you some time. Same for winning\tying\losing quarters. In general, I'd focus more on interesting "under the radar" kind of stats, that people don't look for regularly. A bit of advanced stats, and what the team should do in the coming game according to what the advanced stats say on the other team's strengths and weaknesses. I'd keep the awards part, but lose the "highs" part, since we all look at the box scores and know what's up, unless there is something unusual worth mentioning, like "player X sets a league high in Y category" or something like that. I'd also add per 36 for notable players.

The real decision the Jazz FO is making is between Continuity, Cap Flexibility, and Cash Considerations.

Thanks. I think your points are very good.

My thinking right now is that I will only update the awards, winning categories, and highs each game. I like the I will also update the quarters/half's, but not for each game in its spot. I might do five or ten in a row. I want to see if we turn the second quarter around somehow. We are currently -54 in the second. I will stop doing stats that require too much addition and subtraction, as those are tedious and difficult to do on a phone. It must produce some mistakes somewhere. I will also only do the team records thing sporadically, whenever I get to my computer with time. I just want to see a comparison. I probably will stop with the coaching part.

Do you know where I can get free advanced stats? That's been my trouble. I want to update as soon as I can and other websites either take a while or charge. But maybe I'm wrong.

Thanks.

The NBA.com site provides very nice advanced stats.

http://www.basketball-reference.com/ also has good advanced stats.

www.82games.com/ is another good and free option.

Don't know how it appears on a phone though.

The game I really want to win is one where we win one quarter by 4 points and lose the rest by 1 point each. We are 0-6 in games where we've won only one quarter.

Good thread, I'll bump it until somebody pins.

Check out my "When we win..." post in this thread. It has some interesting trends.

Any idea on the last question in that post? Anyone know?

Everyone, after a long hiatus, I updated this thread and added categories and removed some. Take a look and let me know what you think. If I don't post on each game, it goes much quicker for me and the info is up there.

I probably won't update the season totals every game. It may be done in batches.

I'm going to start putting the box score links for each game. It's like a bump.

So Burke should be primed for a 17 game stint of 35% shooting.

Good news, Exum is bound to have 2-7 game streak of shooting over 50%.
