Jazz's defensive stats when Exum+Gobert are on bench...

Post#1 » by Jazzfan12 » Sat Nov 22, 2014 8:02 pm

The Jazz are allowing 116 points per 100 possessions without Exum and Gobert in the game. This would be close to the second worst mark in NBA history.

The Jazz with Exum and Gobert in the game are still at a pretty poor 108 so they're not the saviors for the defense, but it's pretty pathetic that there have are only two guys making any impact on defense this year.

Not sure where you are getting your stats. Exum and Gobert are our two best defenders, but the difference is a lot more extreme.

Here's a sickening stat-

Burke/Hayward 106.1 ppg allowed.
Exum/Hayward 86.3 ppg allowed.

Not sickening. Exciting. Once Exum does start it seems as though they will be elite together.

I'm looking at NBAwowy for the "Exum off, Gobert off" stats and "Exum on, Gobert on" stats.

It's time to go to a Favors/Gobert starting frontcourt. Try it for 10 games. See what happens.

You don't need stats it's pretty obvious that the jazz are a better team defensively with Gobert and Exum on the court instead of Enes and Trey, I feel like any offensive contribution we get from those two are negated on the defensive end.

I think this is the backcourt defense everyone wanted. But Burks and Burke are mostly offensive, and not really defensive capable.

If we had a Tony Allen, with Exum and Hayward, and put Kanter and Gobert as bigs, we could have a great defensive team, with just the right amount of offense.
