I'm sort of torn on this one... I want us to win but if we lose - good chance we move up in the draft because the Celtics play in the super weak side of the league (they should get more wins..)

Either way - hope for progress..

I think jazz want to win, and they are going to win a few more games. Maybe we'll finish 50-50 last 41 games. We're 2-1 right now.
Think about it.
Jazz need to grow, and it's only winning. We don't need another prospect, and we're not going to have pick 1-3, the only one who can contribute since day 1 (and we have 2 3rd who weren't inmediate impact)
We need better bench, but we have good tools.
I mean, Hayward was 9, Gobert was 27... Millsap was 2nd round... you never know when you are going to find a great player.

As a fan, I always root for a win but take the draft pick as consolation when we lose. As a player, they have to want to win and take nothing but growth as a consolation. If you are a player who is set to be the starter, you could want a high pick for help, but don't you think Trey felt relatively safe? Do you think he selfishly could have wanted to have done better to "miss out" on Exum, "ahh shucks, he can't take my spot." As management, you hope for championship, playoffs for interest, entertainment, and draft picks.

Good news, after this game, we have five most-likely losses coming up.

It's SO frustrating to watch this team at times. WTF did they move away from Burke the last couple of possessions? That last attempt was a little too far.

Exum with the only negative +/- in the starting lineup with a -24... Yikes. This game was a reminder of why I was always nervous with the Jazz picking Exum over Smart. Smart just has that "it" factor that I'm not yet quite sure Exum has. We'll see...

About to watch the game on second run. I saw the quarter numbers and WTF happened in 2nd. 33 points in one half and 60 in another...come on guys. I want 25 a quarter average, not a half.

If we were in East we would only be 3 games out of 8th. In west, its more like 12 games out of 8th. Which makes West about 4x harder.

Does anyone else think the Utah stat keeper hates Gobert?? Maybe I'm crazy but 3 blocks!?!?!? I'm pretty sure they gave 2 of Gobert's blocks to Favors, but oh well at least someone got credit for them.

I'm pretty sure the Utah stat keeper hates Trey. 20 shots (most on the team) off the bench, 0 assists as a PG.

The real decision the Jazz FO is making is between Continuity, Cap Flexibility, and Cash Considerations.

Don't ever doubt Trey. Against all odds, he still found a way to shoot 20 times off the bench. That's impressive. And 0 assists? Whoo, that boy is magic, son! I don't know how he does it...

Maybe I'm a little (just a little) too hard on him this time. If the two half-court heaves counted, then that's basically two misses we can ignore. And at the final (?) offensive possession we had to put up a shot in a hurry, so we can ignore two more misses (first shot, and then another off a Kanter offensive rebound). So let's say we're at 7-16? Still too much, but at least it looks a bit better. Still, the whole idea of him coming off the bench is in part to at least curtail the number of shots he takes, even a little bit, so there's still some work to be done.
