1) Obviously it hurts Exum's short-term development

2) I worry that when he comes back he'll be more timid than ever

3) Trey Burke is now the de facto starting PG

I'm also worried about #2, he'll most likely come back even less aggressive than before.

Trey Burke starting makes the Jazz so hard to watch. This sucks ass. Exum is basically our teams baby child.

The rest of your lineup/depth is too good to start Trey Burke at PG for any amount of time. A move needs to be made, perhaps Burke + future pick for a real PG.

I wish we had one to offer, but Jackson is ours, Jennings won't be ready to start the season, Dinwiddie isn't good (yet, hopefully), and Steve Blake is Steve Blake.

Maybe Sacto for Collison? Boston for one of their fifty guards?

Thats really rough. I was excited by Exums potential coming in but the road to recovery from an ACL is a very long and hard one and Exum already had a lot to work on beforehand. Could be derailing

As a Bucks fan, I understand your lose. I hope Dante returns healthy. Godspeed.

I honestly feel for you. I'm a Bucks fan and when Jabari went down my wife was worried about my mental health. Time kind of sort of makes you feel a little better (**** pep talk)
Once, when asked if he was concerned about his former coach Nate McMillan commenting that he has a selfish attitude, Jerome James replied, "I don't even know what he's talking about, I just worry about Jerome."

That's so **** depressing :( I woke up today feeling like I wanna throw up. I feel worse now than yesterday. It's setting in. I really hope the kid recovers quickly and it doesn't affect his game and aggression in the long term :banghead:

Horrible both for Exum and the Jazz. Sorry to hear this.

I dont think CJ Watson has signed yet. Sign him and have Treyd and CJ be our PGs bc Nieto isnt ready whatsoever
Play with the Pass, Play with a Purpose, and Play with Pace along with Obvious Unselfishness....Coach Snyder says the sky is purple than Jazz players say nice purple sky! LONG LIVE THE MAD SCIENTIST!!!!

I'm not confident Trey is ready for #1 minutes. Cotton is more of a spot guy and Neto is completely untested. I think a move happens before the season starts.

Is it too late to throw some money at Teodosic?
Draft Nate Wolters - FAILED
Keep Nate Wolters - FAILED

The real decision the Jazz FO is making is between Continuity, Cap Flexibility, and Cash Considerations.

Still no confirmation on a ACL tear other than the one source. Don't think it can be all that solid after this amount of time, right?

That totally sucks. He was one of the keys to the Jazz's future. Now, after a spotty rookie season (disappointing is the best description for his first year) and a long recovery from his ACL - likely missing his full second season, he's going to be terribly behind his developmental curve. We'll know a year from now how big a competitor he is - coming back from that injury is going to take something. But, I bet you the Jazz are already starting to hope a permanent replacement comes along.

Because of his size, and his ability to shift over to SG (theoretically), watch now for the Jazz making an opportunistic trade, similar to the Pistons swiping Jackson away from OKC. I can see you guys trading one of your good big men if someone becomes available. The Jazz have a very good cap situation and a lot of nice assets. Top PG's don't grow on trees, however.

To be fair I haven't really seen many people looking for permanent replacement. Most people think we need a stop-gap PG to take the role while Dante recovers. The worst thing with that injury is that it screws up a bunch of timetables for development both for him and for the team and might indeed force the Jazz to look for a high level PG.

Just listened to an Orthopedic sports specialist on the radio. Here's the interview if you want to hear the whole thing talking about Exum's potential injury and path to recovery. He said that there is a good chance for full functional recovery, but the individual knee is never the same as before the injury. He said it's usually at about 95% after recovery(I would guess that's meant performance-wise). So yah, I don't know what to make of it and I don't know what that means exactly.

So yah... full functional recovery - very likely, full performance - probably not(95% usually).
Time for recovery - probably about a year for grade 3 or grade 2 tear, several months if it's grade 1 tear or some other less serious injury.

Devastated. I'd like to see us run with Burks, Hood & Hayward. All 3 can handle the ball.
