If we were somewhat healthy

Post#1 » by sipclip » Wed Jan 20, 2016 6:25 pm

What do you think our record would be? In this scenario we would still be missing Exum but lets say Favors, Gobert and Burks only missed a few games each over this first 41. I think we would be somewhere around 25-16.

I'd agree with that assessment.

We'd probably be competing with Dallas for the 6 spot.

I think with Exum, Favors and Burks playing most of the games this season, the Jazz would have won most of their close losses and have at least 24 wins, and possibly even 26 or 27- which would put them in the #4-#6 position in the West.

The FO probably sees it that way as well, which is why I doubt that they do much other than wait to see what happens over the next year or two as the players develop and the SAS and LAC come to the end of their cycles.

I just hope that when everyone is back and there is a bit more development (e.g. improved outside shooting, Gobert getting even an inkling of an offensive game, and Exum acting like a PG), the offense either transforms or at least looks better than it has this season. It is hard (boring) to watch, and doesn't seem effective at all unless our guards get hot.

You really think that we would only be 3 games better?

Yep. I think people are underestimating how large of a difference that is.

Here are the games that I think we probably would have won.

@Miami
vs Magic
vs Thunder
vs Pelicans
vs Clippers
@ Wolves
vs Rockets
vs Kings
@ Hornets

If were to win all those games we would be looking at 27-14.

There have been at least a dozen games go into overtime or a loss by 2buckets or less. The Jazz win at least half, probably more, if healthy.

28-14 if completely healthy. 4th best team in the conference, no lie.

Can't believe we are 1 game back of the 6 seed even with the injuries. Extremely impressive coaching job by Snyder.

Obviously what fans are hearing about Quin being an awesome developmental coach is true.

Quin is getting with his in game adjustments as well. I still have some gripes, but overall I'm impressed with his strategy. We're winning the second half every game.
