Paul Milsap

Post#1 » by Lava Rock Kid » Wed Feb 8, 2017 4:54 pm

After watching the Atlanta game, it reminded me of why we do not need to get Paul Millsap at a near max contract. Paul has always been undersized. He couldn't get his game going because of our size. Coincidentally Favors hasn't looked better.

A lot of you have wanted millsap back, I am not one of them unless he is playing spot minutes off the bench on a modest contract.

Possibly my favorite Jazz player ever. I do not want him on the team.

I wouldn't want to pay him, but let's not pretend that Millsap isn't a fantastic player. His game has dropped off a bit this year, but he still does so much to help his team win. If he wasn't going to get a gigantic contract he'd be a great fit with us and just about any other team in the league.

I guess if he was willing to come here for something like 4 years @ 60 million with a deescalating salary sure. But he isn't doing that so no thanks.

Paul is an All star and Modern PF now.

He will get around 20 per year. We can't afford that.

and we have Lyles. Much modern PF. Don't we?

In '03-'04, Jerry Sloan coached the ESPN predicted "worst team of all time" to 42-40.

I also remember the miracle in Miami. Maybe I should go watch it in youtube again...

KK and Sap should be in Jazz to the end of their careers... if Larry would be still alive im sure they would never left this organization

He'd be a much better fit in Utah these days than 5-8 years ago.

I am not suggesting that we should go after Millsap, but I think to compare the Millsap we know is a little unfair. Quin has this team spreading the floor MUCH more than we did back in those days. The offense that we used to run exposed Millsap's size, but Millsap has developed a little more of an outside game now and his versatility is nice. I dunno what I would trade for Millsap, maybe he isn't worth what he would require to get him, but I think he would actually fit nice.

We should get Sap in this upcoming summer, new multiple year contract and he should be back where he belonged :)
