We'll see. He's benefiting from being an unknown right now. In the second half Milwaukee made it a priority to take away his right drive away and Exum couldn't do anything going left.

When he increases his handles, (dribble lower to the ground, switching hands, behind the back, between the legs. But that could be off season work) he will be unstoppable. He already has pretty good passing skills. The rest of the year for him should be increasing his court awareness-what to do next when the ball comes.

You guys are too much!

All-star my ass! OMG

Good for Dante and the Jazz, though. Hopefully he can learn how to shoot a basketball and he might turn out okay.

Come back and post after you've actually watched his recent play. He has made enormous strides. Your judging him on the before, not the now.

I'd just take it a game at a time if I was you guys. He's shown some really promising signs the last handful of games, but it's still going to be a process.

He's looked a bit more aggressive and confident, and that's going a long way. Obviously he needs to continue developing the J and while he looks less shy of contact now, I think he can improve his ability to finish contested drives a lot.

The other thing I would like to see more of is rebounding - he's a big guard who could crash the glass a bit more it seems. He's a good defender, but outside of that, it feels like he doesn't influence the game much outside of scoring the ball. Improvement in some more of these periphery areas would go a long way.

Great signs, though. Hopefully he builds on it.

But you're looking at the cheerleaders all game, admit it. 8-)

The real decision the Jazz FO is making is between Continuity, Cap Flexibility, and Cash Considerations.

Dante still has incredible trouble against pressure. He can't even dribble the ball against teams that put pressure on the ball. Players like Smart, Wall, CP3 steal his lunch every single time.

For what it's worth his defense seemed alright, with the exception of a case or two of Wall brilliance. He was good contesting shots and disconnecting passing lanes.

I've enjoyed what I'm seeing from Dante. Hell, Quinn even played him WITH Hill, just to get him a few more minutes against Washington. Is he perfect? Nah, not even close. But that blazing quick first step, long stride and increasing aggression should continue to pay off for him. His lateral quickness isn't all the way back, which is why his defense isn't as good as his rookie year, but it'll get there ... and then, watch out.

But hey, if you're not a believer, the Jazz could grab Brandon Jennings. (Ugh, no thanks)

Lets merge this with the other thread.

Still not ready to trust Dante.
We really need to keep Hill at least 3 more years.

Start praying again...because Dante is back to sucking.

He's not even average at one single NBA skill....

After an awesome 8 game stretch by Exum, he has only played 19 minutes in total in his last 2. Second year players can be expected to have some down games especially when they are only getting 9.5 minutes per game over the 2 game stretch. Give the kid a break. He will reward us. Plenty of current stars and above average players have 9.5 minutes in a game where they don't always play so great. Only difference is that that is all the minutes Exum has played during that time. Can't wait for his next big game to silence all the detractors.

All it shows is that you jumped the gun a little bit. He is going to have his terrible stretches and good stretches but he definitely hasn't had any breakout stretches to this point in his career. You know expectations are low for a player when scoring in double figures for a few games gets you excited.

So much to work with in this title. Oh ye of little faith. You betrayed exum 3 times. Idk. It's just player development. Not bronze age babble. Give Dante the time. Chill

I think Quin says it best. Dante is playing good and he's playing bad. We need to stop freaking out over everything he does. It's like Exum is either an all star or D-Leaguer based on whether or not his last layup went in or not.
