The Trade

Post#1 » by Balkman32 » Tue Jan 6, 2015 12:56 am

Thoughts. It seems like there are some moving pieces but, it looks like Dion Waiters is coming to OKC.

UPDATE - It looks like Reggie Jackson is not involved.

Well nothing is anywhere near official. I am surprised Waiters is coming to OKC. I didn't think he is a fit. Plus Wojo just said to the Knicks.

I would think that Lamb is involved. He has seem to fallen out of favor...

This trade is dumb for all teams involved.

Dion has been all kinds of awful this season.

Well it looks like right now it might be waiters for nothing. I'll take it.

We gave a protected 1st and Lance Thomas for Waiters.

A 1st for Waiters?? Presti would never do this kind of thing...

So basically the next Josh Huestis and Lance Thomas for Dion Waiters. Presti had to make this move. It's interesting because they can't trade waiters until the off season, unless it is a one fore one (I think). But, a Thunder first round pick is nothing. Waiters for for that when u r trying to re-sign shows Durant we are willing to go into the Tax.

I'm happy. They needed another 3 point shooter and got one. Not too heavy of a price considering it will likely be a late first-round pick and they just got a guy taking in the top 10.

We should trade Jeremy Lamb too. He's not confident and consistent

No, BUT this does secure our SG depth so that we can possibly do something with RJ and Lamb.

Which puts new light on Bondoms suggestion for IT2, if they could adjust it correctly.

Oh man, im so glad we got Waiters.
I suggested a Lamb/Waiters swap last season but figured Waiters value was way more than Lamb... But man, this guy is perfect for us.

Imagine this guys improvements after a year of practicing with KD, Westbrook, Ibaka, Jackson every day. Oh man.

Can you really see OKC making another trade this season though? I hope they do just dont know if I really see it happening.

It depends on the indications RJ gives Presti on if he is going to stay or not.
If Presti has the feeling that he's going to leave, then im willing to bet that he will pull the trigger on another trade. If he has the feeling he will stay, then no.

I dont see any chance RJ stays with OKC next year, he can make a lot more somewhere else and be the starter. AKA hes going to pull a Harden and I dont blame him you gotta get that money while you can.
