Is Kanter just coming to OKC to hang out or is he going to get to work? Kanter is just so puzzling to me. He passes the eye test, but his numbers are just terrible which is mainly due to defensive issues. Unlike Waiters who doesn't pass the eye test and has terrible numbers.

Will Rose be playing on Christmas or will it be one of the 30 games he misses?

FYI, good read on some of Kanter's stats, I haven't finished the article yet but so far its a decent read. He's awful on defense, but numbers show he puts effort on the defensive glass, that's as far as I've read but am gonna finish it up now:

this confirms a lot of what the eye test was telling us.

1. Kanter is not a good blocker or rim defender
2. Kanter is poor at defending the paint
3 He is a solid rebounder especially on the offensive end
4. He is an efficient scorer
5 Would be nice to see a stat on PnR defense
6 Gobert is a monster in the paint
7 Adams crushing screens have tangible value
8 Kanter and Adams could see us near the top of the league in offensive rebounding

We can only hope Donovan has a workable defensive structure for Kanter

NBA.com has it. He's an excellent roll man defender:

http://stats.nba.com/playtype/#!/roll-man/?dir=1&OD=defensive&CF=TeamNameAbbreviation*E*OKC&Season=2014-15&SeasonType=Regular%20Season&sort=Percentile

Second behind Collison on the team.

How is he that good of a roll man defender?

Can he just not protect the rim?

No clue, his rim protection numbers are horrendous on nylon calc though. He's in the 80th percentile for pnr roll man, and he's not great most places, but for some reason there he's good.

Agreed.

I just hope we don't get a series of unfortunate events like the last 3 years.

Yeah, same. Came up in a trade board thread but more I think about it I could see a retool around Russ and Serge too, in the 5-10 percent shot he leaves.

1. What was a blanket criticism? He's not a rim protector? OK? I also said he's good in pnr.

2. You're a grown man using hashtags, think about that.

Oh lawd, pumped for this season.

More good news for the Thunder: Durant spoke glowingly of the team's new coach, Billy Donovan, who replaced Scott Brooks -- a man with whom Durant had grown close during their seven seasons together.

"I know what it takes to have that chemistry with your coach," Durant said. "We've been building that since [Donovan] got there and it's been going well. I'm excited to start the season with him. As far as X's and O's, he's one of the best just from watching film with him and picking his brain a bit. He's eager to learn and we're all eager to grow with him."
