I am not sure, in the next 6 days, that we will be able to find a time that works for everyone.

Completely agree. We'll either have to go with whatever majority we can get, or do it offline (though we might be too late for the latter option).

+1 I say do it tomorrow asap

I set the draft for Friday at 8pm PST. Hope that works for most of us.

BTW, I never got Carl's keepers. Should I just guess?

Ok, the keepers are set. The draft is Friday. $100 each. Good luck everyone! If you can't make it, please try to set your autodraft!

Just so I'm crystal clear, that's 11:00 pm EDT?

it will be 6 am for me. if it's 1 hour later than this, it would be better, so I could wake up and draft, instead of not sleeping at all

EDIT - On second thought....let's see what happens with my rookies. Maybe they'll be more valuable than I think in a year or two.

i think i shouldve just not drafted james young...an extra roster spot would be better when I'm gonna have to drop him anyway.

I kind of forgot to omit him before this thing started because of the giant gap between discussing the yahoo! draft and actually setting it up.

Now that the draft has opened, i doubt there is anything we can do about it? Either way I'm good, but if I can drop him before this thing starts i'd like to.

Re: Semi-Keeper League - Proposals for rule Changes on Pg. 2

Post#677 » by Breakdown777 » Sat Oct 25, 2014 4:40 am

Bumping this because I'm not sure if it's posted on page 1 or not, and I kinda forgot what the rules were, so I thought if someone else was in the same boat as me, it's easier to find.

bww78 wrote:Ok, I decided that we should probably remember to keep things simple.

So, rather than have a google spreadsheet with additional players, I'm going to do the following:

1) Add two new bench spots to make room for rookies that wouldn't normally make rosters otherwise. That brings our teams up to a total of 11 players.

2) All rookies drafted are automatically safe for the coming season. One of your rookies from any given season may be "tagged" after the season to be safe next season as well (giving you one additional keeper). But, if you drop that rookie at any point, or trade him and then trade back for him, he loses this "tagged" option. You will be able to "Tag" one sophmore player each summer, thus providing the opportunity for 6 keepers a year, if you decide to go that route.

Note: The rookie "Tag" will not apply to rookies drafted last year, as none of us knew about it, and it would provide an unfair advantage to teams that drafted rookies.

Note: Draft picks may be forfeited at any time.

So, that gives teams two bench spots in which to stash young players that you want to keep for the future.

It also gives you an extra year to evaluate one of your rookies before you have to either drop them or use one of your keeper slots on them. It tracks more like an actual NBA team that way.

Thanks for your patience guys. Hopefully this helps address some of your concerns, and though I know it won't satisfy everyone, I did try to find middle ground and take everyone's opinion into account.

So basically, whoever took Noel got great value, because he can be an extra keeper under that "tag" rule. I Wish I would have remembered that and not nominated him 1st overall.

Noel is not a rookie by our rules.

But he could get the "sophmore" tag, correct? Or do you have to draft them as a rookie and hold onto them for the 1st year to qualify them for a sophmore tag?
