Shots fired by the manager of Sojasun. Normally the teams aren't accusing each-other but apparently omerta won't hold as long in today's peleton. Basically he says Froome's performance was ridiculous and said Froome was stupid for not even trying to make it look hard, with the way he was talking on his headset the whole way up, people thought Froome was going to start singing while usually it's hard to even sip water while you're climbing Ventoux.

First time today that Froome has shown signs of being a human...apparently hadn't eaten enough on the stage....still finished like 6th or so on the stage.

Quintana is an impressive rider. I look forward to watching him run next year.

According to a large-scale re-examination of the doping tests conducted in the 1998 Tour de France, 57 riders have been busted with EPO abuse. Among them: Marco Pantani, Laurent Jalabert, Jan Ullrich and Erik Zabel. Let's see what Ullrich ("I only doped with my own blood") and Zabel ("I doped exactly once in 1996") have to say now...

Edit: Breaking news - Jacky Durand came out as a doper today, too.

Today, Erik Zabel confessed "large scale doping with EPO, own blood and everything else" from 1996-2003.

So what else is new?

The UCI has a new president, Brian Cookson, who has sworn to save cycling by eradicating doping. Pat "Lance is my homie" McQuaid is no more. Until the last second, he tried to cheat his way into the presidential seat by running on a Swiss license, b/c his native Ireland refused to make him eligible. Maybe now, something resembling an "anti doping initiative" can start.
