If the Grizz would retain his rights and he can go, then it would be a win win? If they would have to let him walk free and clear, I would still favor him taking the more lucrative deal abroad. Why he did come on late and he had his moments, I still feel there were much better alternatives than him for the Grizz.

The old Administrative attempted to catch lightining in a bottle by proving there were the smartest guys in the room, but turning coal into gold is not that easy. If the draft board falls in such a way that WE have to take a point guard at #22 his fate is sealed, coupled with the 13 games he still has to sit out, I can't say we saw enough good things to wait on him. I would also favor resigning Beno Udrih who would only resign if he is going to be the principle backup. Lastly this dude was getting booed at home games. Booed at home games! Really?

The Grizzlies have been reported as they will hold on to Calathes. He will have to serve out the remaining 13 game suspension like you stated above. In terms of Calathes, he has come a long way( I mean LONG!!!) from where he has started. He did stepped up in Conley's absence when Conley sprained his ankle in mid-season. That's decent for a backup PG. And were that better out there than Calathes... Yep. I wasn't too thrilled with the signing myself considering his limited skill sets and concerns of how him playing in Greece will transfer into NBA ball. I think by the time NC comes back to play in December, he'll be able to resume some of that spark he had before his suspension. He'll just have to earn it all back.

I dont think nick has to adopt
To the NBA As he grew up
In the US and played College

I also think he did well in
The absence of conley

What more would you expect
From a back up?

He was very young when he played
In greece but did very good with a
PG legend like diamantidis besides him

In kuban / russia he was the Best Player
And earned Mvp at the euro cup
Which is the 2. Best international
League in europe

We would love to have him back in greece
He Would be one of the Best PGs in europe

The grizzlies thow decided to keep him

Loss loss Situation
As he will not develop in the nba
Playing less than 10 min

I am Sure he could be ok for the nba
If he Would have gotten a Chance

You guys will see him beast at the
National team this summer at the World
Cup
I am 1000% Sure he will be one
Of the Best PG except Team usa
Spain has top Level PGs also but for the rest....

How is this a loss/loss.

Nick signed a contract. He's a great back up for the Grizz. The Grizz opted to exercise the contract.

Win/Win for the Grizz.

No, it's a win/win for the Grizz.

Valuable asset for the Grizz on a reasonable contract.

Win/Loss for Nick - Getting to play in the best professional league in the world, but for less money than Europe.

Loss Greece/European teams. They don't get Nick.

Personally, my only concern is for the Grizz.

he can also play himself to a very lucrative MLE deal or better after he moves on from backup-duty on the Grizz down the road. He's a millionaire under 30 playing for one of the best playoff teams in the league on the best league on the planet..... WIN WIN WIN all around.
