Rumor Raptors Grizzlies

Post#1 » by jumivi » Thu Jun 26, 2014 4:22 pm

The Raptors are in the hunt to acquire the Grizzlies’ No. 22 pick in tonight’s draft but would have to take back Tayshaun Prince to make something happen, tweets Marc Stein of ESPN.com. The potential swap would send John Salmons and the No. 59 pick to Memphis for Prince and the No. 22 pick. The deal would put Toronto within range to pick Tyler Ennis.

i guess this is wrong/incomplete...

Update to potential Raps/Grizz trade: Deal would more likely send No. 37 with John Salmons to Memphis for Tayshaun Prince and No. 22 pick

***Salmons has a team option for this season.

Salmons' contract is not fully guaranteed. He can be waived for 1 million.

Is Tayshaun Prince completely done or does he have one more season playing 15 mpg left in him?

I hope the Grizz do not do this, we can not continue to send first round picks out to get rid of a player. We currently only have two players that were originally drafted by the organization.

Prince can be moved for a similar contract that has more years, a small market club can not continue to make these type of transactions.

From a Grizz perspective, if the individual they at least like is not there at #22 they do the deal, and in turn clear over 6 million in salary and make a value pick at #37.

Likely candidates Jordan Adams UCLA, Spencer Dinwiddle Colorado, and maybe KJ McDaniels.

That's actually a good thing and a sign of the times. Canada has become a basketball hotbed and the fans there are really excited about the Raptors. The fans are also excited about the possibility of having a Canadian drafted #1 overall for the second year in a row. As for the lack of activity on this board, I don't have a clue but the activity does pick up in season, but it still is not on the level the Toronto board is experiencing.
