Update on MC11 Injury/Surgery

PORTLAND, Ore. – Grizzlies point guard Mike Conley underwent successful surgery early Monday to repair a facial fracture near the left eye, a source told The Commercial Appeal.

There were no complications and Conley is recovering well in Memphis.

Griz officials aren't publicly stating a timetable for Conley’s return, but his recovery could take weeks. Recovery times range widely based on the procedure and severity of the injury.

When Conley does resume basketball activities, he'll almost certainly have to wear a mask to protect the area under his left eye.

Although there is no timetable for his return, this is good news that there were no complications. The injury may not had been as serious as projected. Potentially be another situation like Russell Westbrook where he missed a couple of games and need to wear a mask. In this case, if the Grizzlies go ahead and win tonight's game, they can get the rest needed along with MC11's injury to heal enough to where he do not have to miss the next round against the Warriors.

Be well MC11!

Needed to probably sit out this game, maybe even game 5 if it gets that far.

It's actually worse than I expected. Wishing him fast recovery.
