This trade might seem a bit odd, but it does make some sense. Only basing this off the premise that Joeger wants Mike Miller back and that we want Jeff Green out.
MEM out:
Jeff Green
Jamychal Green
Stokes
Rights to Andrew Harrison
POR out:
Haywood
Miller
Plumlee
2nd round pick
GSW out:
Gerald Wallace
Future 1rst round pick 2 years after the one to Utah is given
MEM in:
Wallace
Miller
Plumlee
GSW 1rst
POR in:
Jeff Green
Stokes
Rights to Andrew Harrison
GSW in:
Haywood
Jamychal Green
Memphis gets a solid young big man in Plumlee to give some more versatility to the rotation Joeger can use playing either Plumlee or Wright as the backup PF OR C. Adds Mike Miller back to Memphis for 3 times the charm, Wallace gives Memphis a piece they can hold onto for trade considerations later if need be and an expiring contract at worst, either way they are still under the lux so it doesnt hurt them.
Portland gets the Haywood contract and Miller off the books without losing any money and still retain a second round pick as well as Jeff Green who they can try to flip during the season, they also showed interest in him prior to the many moves they made, also they bring back stokes who is a young and old school pound it down low big man that can give them a new dimension in the rotation long term and they get the young Harrison who is not yet signed to a deal yet, so they can try him out, but could easily be a great combo guard for a young developing team.
GSW bring back Jamychal Green who they can try out at summer League and waive if necessary, but the big boy here is Haywood who they can waive and not have to pay the Lux at all this year, they bring back a second round pick as some consolation for the future first they burned to clear quite a bit of cap space.
