Memphis Grizzlies center Steven Adams will undergo surgery on his right knee and miss the entire 2023-24 NBA season. The Grizzlies made the announcement Sunday, just three days before they start their season. Adams initially hurt the PCL (posterior cruciate ligament) in his right knee in January and missed the second half of last season, plus the 2023 NBA playoffs.

"Steven Adams will undergo season-ending knee surgery on his right posterior cruciate ligament, after non-operative rehabilitation did not resolve ongoing knee instability," the Grizzlies said in a statement. "Adams is expected to make a full recovery ahead of next season."

Just one day before their 2023-2024 NBA season opener, the Memphis Grizzlies announced they will be without another key frontcourt player for at least one game.

The Grizzlies announced third-year forward Santi Aldama, who was primed to step into the role of starting big man after Steven Adams' season-ending knee surgery, will be out for at least the season opener against the New Orleans Pelicans after spraining his ankle in practice.

Aldama will be listed as day to day.

Too many injuries going on. I believe we are applying for a hardship exception to try and get an extra roster spot.

Adams and Clarke likely done for the season. Ja still suspended 11 more games. Smart out a few more weeks. LaRavia just had eye surgery. Kennard and Tillman we don't know much about.

Random question from another board.

Who you guys (or the organization?) have a problem with Brandon Clarke playing for Canada this summer?

I personally don't have a problem with it as long as he's healthy. My guess is he doesn't in order to get ready for next season, but he has looked great in his videos so he may be fully recovered and ready to go for some summer ball.
