LOL at Black Friday.

I'm really pissed right now and I am not a Grizz fan. I can't stand the Lakers, and for them to get Gasol for Kwame Brown of all people - ugh...

I am a Grizz fan and I LIKE the trade!!! This team actually plays better when Gasol is not playing!

Now hurry up and trade:

Miller, Cardinal, Lowry

08 Rookie salaries
According to the link above, the salaries of the no 4 & 24 picks are $3.49m and $1.08m respectively.

If the salary cap is set at $58m (the same increase as last year), then it gives the Grizz a $9.5m of cap room to use on free agents this summer. I doubt that is enough to sign someone like Deng, Gordon or Iggy. No wonder we read stories like Miller might get traded before the deadline to add more to the cap space the Grizz got from the Gasol trade.

The Bulls will be over the tax if they give both Deng & Gordon the max contract.

In the summer of '03, the Heat signed Brand to an offer but the Clippers match it that led the Heat signing Odom without the Clipps matching. If the Grizz can trade for another player to net them additional cap space before the deadline, a similar fate with the Heat is possible by signing Deng 1st then follow it up with Gordon.

Are you guys still going to be fans of the team when it's not in Memphis anymore? Hopefully you find a way to move out of the west now that David Stern made your goofy GM hook up the Lakers to make them contenders.

Dumb edit like you, ****, piss the hell out of me. So, instead of receiving picks/expirings/young talent, we were supposed to trade him to "your" Celtics or whatever team you bandwagon? I'm glad we got something that we need, which is salary cap relief and talent, for an overpaid "star".
.
No need to get that expletive..

Neither Deng or Gordon deserve close to the max. This year has undoubtedly proven that (if it was in question before).

I agree and I believe that was the reason Chicago did not give them the extension because they feel it

If you guys don't re-sign JCN or Kwame you should have about 12-13 million in cap space.

How would you guys feel about trying to lure Josh Smith here with a 5 year deal, starting at 13 million. I know hes a great young player, but I just can't see the Hawks wanting to invest superstar money into Josh Smith, all though I could be wrong.

I think a lot of people would love to add Josh Smith to this team.

Actually the Grizz will have about 10mil if they:

1) Don't sign JCN
2) Don't worry they will not sign Kwame
3) Don't sign Marc Gasol or trade him for a pick that also takes up cap space.

Realistically if the Grizz want to go after a FA this year they are going to have to deal MMiller to GS for their TPE.

?????????????????????
Can you make a contract in the NBA that include clauses that force early payment or bonuses such as the following:

Upon playing the 5th game of the year in the state of GA 90% of the year's base salary is due said player.
?????????????????????

I'm sure they could do something like that, but why would an owner want to do that?

BTW, Kinsey was an absolute diamond in the 2006-2007 season, I dont understand why he was benched this past season.
