I think you meant the third worst owner. What I find interesting from that article is that the Grizzlies are worth only $3mil less than the Clippers, who are in the second biggest market.

My bad. On the market worth, I believe that less success as a franchise for the Clips may be the reason why it stands at lesser value than the Grizz despite them being in a large market state in California.

Living in SoCal, there's no doubt in my mind that Donald Sterling is the worst owner in the NBA.

The man is cheap and does not exhibit the best bball knowledge when it comes to keepin a consistant team chemistry together. Right now, unless some great miracle happens this offseason. Heisley is making an effort to challange for the worst owner title. That don't bode well for the Grizzlies at all.

I think this offseason is the litmus test for Heisley. If he okays spending for a really good free agent power forward, or of he can find one through a trade and then spend on a really good sixth man veteran, and doesn't skimp on bench depth then it's a sign he is indeed willing to do what it takes to improve.

But if they go the cheap route and simply use their draft picks and add some of these minimum wage free agents from this camp and stay below the $50mil mark then I'll probably take it as a sign that the bottom line is the most important thing.

Time will tell if he becomes the worst owner or not.

Michael Heisley is an EXTREMELY successful businessman. He's very, very good at taking poorly run companies and turning them into profit makers. That said, the Grizzlies are a sports franchise and not a typical business. You can't (IMO) run a sports franchise and a steel mill in the same manner and hope for the same outcome. He just hasn't figured that out yet and none of his subordinates, other than Hubie and the Logo have had the stones to tell him this.

Someone in the organization need to get some stones and tell him what time it is if they wish to turn this debacle around for the better.

Heisley must understand that he must spend to have some profit...
