#216 Houston and Boston have a trade:

Houston sends: 2013 Portland 1st and the draft rights to Sergio Llul

Boston sends: Greg Oden($1,500,000)
Houston accepts. Roll the dice on Greg getting healthy because he's a great center when healthy.

Wasn't planning on trading Greg Oden, but we wanted to get underneath the luxury tax and with this deal we did. We didn't anticipate on re-signing Oden, so adding a future 1st Round Pick, and a foreign guard I've been high on for a while is a decent deal.

Trade #218

GSW and Clippers

GSW out:

Hasheem Thabeet $5,127,720
Chris Wilcox $3,000,000
2012 MIL 1st (Top 12 protected)

Total: $8,127,720

Clippers out:

Caron Butler $8,000,000

Total: $8,000,000

Close enough again. Deal works.

We turn Rush/Crawford/pick to Caron Butler. We do this, cos we think, Caron is a very good 2 way player that is signed long term and may stay with us.

we do this to take a gamble in FA, Thabeet's option will not be picked up and this will give us our MAX cap space to make a certain big fellas dream come true. Plus we like MIL's young team and think they will play themselves into the weak eastern conference playoff picture and net us another late lotto pick

#219 PORTLAND AND PHOENIX

Portland sends:
$04,000,000 - Mario Chalmers
$03,500,000 - Mickael Pietrus
$00,788,872 - Hassan Whiteside
$00,854,389 - Joey Dorsey
Rights to Victor Claver

$09,143,261 - Total

Phoenix sends:
$09,319,000 - Devin Harris
$01,906,200 - Matt Barnes

$11,225,200 - Total

Kind of an overpay since I like Claver, and I've held onto Chalmers for a long while. Harris is going to be my ball-handler and I prefer Barnes over Pietrus especially since he can play some PF alongside LMA.
Dammit...:

I've got Nurkic fever now.

Isnt Oden getting paid significantly more than that?

Nope. Oden originally signed his QO which would've been the $8million figure...but they reduced it once he got injured.

But it shouldn't effect the game in that sort of way since it was reduced a while after the game started. Meaning the team that had when it was signed pretty much got around $7M extra in cap-space.

This is a quality package for Harris and we are VERY high on Claver. Good dealing Portland.

Its at the 8M figure. Oden's salary was reduced after the game started, so if that effects the Houston/Boston trade, you guys need to redue the trade.

Ah, I had no idea. Doesn't matter though cuz I have enough cap if its 8.

What's his exact figure then?

#220 PORTLAND AND DENVER

Portland trades:
$09,319,000 - Devin Harris
$01,906,200 - Matt Barnes
Portland's 2012 2nd

$11,225,000 - Total

Denver trades:
$07,807,728 - Andre Miller
$04,300,000 - Jose Juan Barea

$12,107,728 - Total

I'd HATE to lose Barnes, but getting Iron Man and the guys who is great at backing up old PG's could be worth it.

Nice dealing Denver.

Denver accepts. We lock in our starting PG for the next two years and add a glue guy in Matt Barnes. Good deal Blazers.

Trade 221

NEW JERSEY & ATLANTA MAJOR TRADE

New Jersey sends
Anderson Varejao - $7.7M & Luol Deng - $13.5M - Terrence Williams $2.369 - ($25.069M out)

Atlants sends
Al Jefferson $14M - Dorrell Wright $3.823M - Nick Young $3.7M ($21.523) & ATL 2012 1if in the lotto(within $5M)

New Jersey felt they needed more reliable post scoring and felt the acquisition of 2 quality young wings will offset the loss of Deng and offer greater cap flexibility. Very nice dealing with Atl.

Confirmed. This balances our roster and gives us a great starting 5 of Dwill/Martin/Deng/Lee/Varejao. Good dealing NJ

Trade # 222 - Phoenix & Detroit

Phoenix Trades
Mario Chalmers - $4,000,000
Marreese Speights - $2,721,255

Total - $6,721,255

Detroit Trades
Will Bynum - $3,250,000
DeJuan Blair - $986,000

Total - $4,236,000

I think DET has the cap space to absorb - checking. Haha.

Pheonix Accepts

We have wanted to add Blair to our team for some time now - we saw an opportunity and we took it. It may look like an overpay, but Speights wasn't in our long term plans and we like the ability to have Blair's contribution at his contract.

Paying Chalmers $4M > Paying Bynum $3.25M. Speights is playing well in real life.
