Trade#295: Washington Wizards and Boston Celtics

Washington Wizards send:
Chris Singleton
Eric Maynor

Total: $3,935,080

Boston Celtics send:
Kenneth Faried

Total: $1,311,240

Singleton wouldn't get much time behind Batum, who's already a really good defender. I really like Faried's game and his immense hustle/rebounding/shotblocking will be great with Brook/TT. We also gain a bit of cap space.

TRADE #296

Sacramento Kings and New Orleans Hornets have agreed to the following trade:

New Orleans receives:
PG JImmer Fredette ($2,406,240)
PG Kendall Marshall (Draft Rights)
PF Jared Sullinger (Draft Rights)
SF Quincy Miller (Draft Rights)

Sacramento receives:
C Andre Drummond (Draft Rights)

Probably overpay here a bit, but we finally receive the player we've coveted all along. NOLA has the cap room to absorb the difference.

We get good value here for a great prospect.

NOH and DET have a trade to announce.

NOH outgoing:
PG JImmer Fredette ($2,406,240)
PG Kendall Marshall (Draft Rights)
PF Jared Sullinger (Draft Rights)
SF Quincy Miller (Draft Rights)

DET outgoing:
Enes Kanter $4,319,280
Brandon Knight $2,678,640
total: $6,997.920

Melo -> Kanter/Knight/Chandler (caproom). Not bad, we finally replace Rose with a core PG who can shoot quite well and is developing as a passer. Kanter is 5/5 in 14 minutes, 12/12 per36. I like the direction my team is headed.

Sure, why not. Knight and Kanter are nice, but I don't think they'll ever be stars. Quincy has good potential. Marshall is made more for the NBA game. Fredette can be a nice role player, and Sullinger was a top 10 pick.

To stay under roster limits, the Pistons waive the partially guaranteed Shaun Livingston. We will pay him the $1 million still owed to him.

# 298 Houston and Cleveland have a trade:

Houston sends: Paul Milsap($8,603,633) + Jason Smith($2,500,000) + Cole Aldrich($2,445,480) + 2014 Houston 2nd = $13,549,113

Cleveland sends: Al Jefferson($15,000,000)

Houston will also send $2m in cash

Houston accepts. Shopped Milsap for quite awhile, and we couldn't find a deal for a center we liked that fit. Al Jefferson is a pretty good center and having an actual center to try and use in a trade might be more appealing to find the right guy.

Cavs accept. We needed white guys, and Cole is the whitest out there (see roster page).

Detroit accepts. We gave up a bit of value, but we needed a true center. Mozgov has decent potential, as long as he stays away from Blake Griffin. You can't teach 7'1". Fisher for Sessions is a major upgrade. The picks just add a little more value to our end of the dealing.

TRADE #300

MEM and SAC

MEM gets:
draft rites of Tomas Satoransky
Hawks' 2013 1st round pick

SAC gets:
Jonas Jerebko $3,843,125
MEM 2014 2nd

SAC has cap space to make this trade work, if you are in doubt you can check his salary.

We really like Satoransky's fit next to our scoring PG Lou Williams coming off the bench, and also shed some salary.

Kings agree. Hate to lose the 2013 1st, but Jerebko is a nice piece off the bench

Trade 301

Trailblazer / Nets Agree on Trade

The Portland Trailblazers will send SF/SG Gordan Hayward and the rights to Joel Freeland for Rookie Marcus Morris and PG/SG Rodrique Beaubois.

Blazers send 2.709,720 (+ rights) to the Nets and take on 2.227 + 1.905M ($4.132M). Since Portland only has about $ 30M under contract, they can assume the additional Payroll under the CBA.

New Jersey is pleased to reacquire the talents of Hayward and believe Freeland will offer a tremendous post presence at the PF/C spots in the 2013 season. He has been the best post player in Europe for the past 2 years. Great dealing with you Portland.

NOH and POR have a trade to announce.

NOH outgoing:
Brandon Knight $2,678,640
Enes Kanter $4,319,280
Greg Stiemsma $1,029,389
total: $8,027,309

POR outgoing:
DeMarcus Cousins $3,627,720
Bismack Biyombo $2,798,040
total: $6,425,760

Cousins is 15/11 and his FG% is improving rapidly. He is a big center that compliments Love quite nicely. Bismack projects to be an elite defender and shot blocker. We have 4 young bigs that can really player now, and will continue to make moves to improve the team.

I feel it was a bit of an overpay on behalf of Cousins but Knight can score, pass, and rebound. An all-around PG that we hope to keep long-term. And Kanter is only getting better.

NOH and MIA have a trade to announce.

NOH outgoing:
Kevin Love $15,000,000
Jonas Valanciunas $2,812,200
Bismack Biyombo $2,923,920
total: $20,736,120

MIA outgoing:
Chris Bosh $17,545,000
Kyle Lowry $5,750,000
total: $23,295,000

I hate Bosh. He left Toronto. That being said he is a great player that is having a very efficient year, and producing with limited touches. Only 27, I think he'll thrive with a bigger role in the offense here in NOH. Lowry is averaging 16/7/9 and 2.1 stls on top 3 defense at his position, and he is only 25. We finally get our PG and Bosh is a fine PF replacement. Good dealing MIA.

Miami accepts. I hate trading Lowry but the talent here eas too good to pass up. Needless to say, a trade for a PG will follow.

#304 Houston and New Jersey have a trade:

Houston sends: Greivis Vasquez($1,191,240) x 1.5 = $1,786,860

New Jersey sends: Elliot Williams($1,442,880)

Houston accepts. Bored, like Elliot Williams' athleticism.

NJ loves EWill but moved Backup PG in Beaubois and needed more of a true PG. I like the way Vasquez is developing in Houston and felt like this was a good move teamwise. Huge downgrade in athleticism. Another easy deal with Moss
