Re: Christmas GMAT: Discussion Thread
Let's get everything sorted out in terms of FAs etc, and then we can start. I'd want a set of rules for every one to read before they sign up.

Re: Christmas GMAT: Discussion Thread
OK, so how do these rules sound:
All the normal GMAT rules with the following changes:
-> S&Ts are only allowed for tier 1 and 2 FAs.
-> You may not trade a player you signed to max deal.
-> All free agent signings must wait 72 hours after signing or until the end of the FA period, whichever is longer, to be eligible for a trade. (Make a note of this on your rosters!)
-> You can only use the amnesty clause on a player that has been on your roster continuously since the lockout if your team hasn't already used it. Just like in real life, you can't amnesty a player mid-season. You will be allowed to use the clause within the first three days on the game and during the offseason period (if eligible).
-> Any tier 1-4 FAs will not sign contracts for less than $3M/yr. Any player that does not receive a suitable contract will "go overseas"
-> Tier 5 FAs will be bid on and signed the same way they were in the second half of the last game
-> Tiers 4 and 5 of free agency will last two days apiece (instead of one for tiers 1-3). This allows one full week (seven days) for free agency, after which all rosters must be within limits: 12-15 players and above the salary floor of $45M. Trading will "open" back up and tier 5 free agency will continue as it does throughout the rest of the game.
Is this good for everybody?
