Depth
Rudy Gobert 30/Marreese Speights 18
Wilson Chandler 26/David Lee 18/Marreese Speights 4
DeMarre Carroll 32/Wilson Chandler 8/Klay Thompson 8
Klay Thompson 26/Randy Foye 22
Steph Curry 34/Shaun Livingston 14

What was the plan?
My focus this game was to make a team that had a longer window for contention, had max cap space next offseason and that added a third franchise-level player. I achieved all of these goals. Gobert allowed the lowest field goal percentage at the rim last season and he is much younger than Bogut. The only position that saw a downgrade was at power forward, but Chandler is a similar size as Draymond Green (both 6-8, Draymond is 8 pounds heavier), and shoots a better percentage from 3 (34% vs. 32%). I really like the depth that we have now, too. We have players not receiving minutes that were rotation players on playoff teams, so if we have injuries I am fairly confident that the Warriors would still do well.

Will we win more games this season?
I really think that this version of the Warriors will win about the same amount of games this season. Gobert/Chandler vs. Bogut/Green is pretty much a wash, with Gobert having more upside than Draymond. Carroll vs. Igoudala is an interesting debate, but factoring in their age and DeMarre's superior ability to spread the court, I think there is a slight edge here. Again, Chandler vs. Barnes is a wash with a slight edge to Chandler this season, but an edge to Barnes over the long run. My backcourt remains relatively unchanged, but I think Foye is the PERFECT player to have backing up Klay as he spreads the court for Livingston to be at his most effective.

Will we win more games in the future?
A big problem the Warriors had is that Draymond Green's contract was going to be crippling. I replaced him and Igoudala with Gobert and Carroll, who combined still cost less that Draymond. This means that I have the cap space to go after Kevin Durant. I think that with the core I have now - combined with our style of play - the Warriors probably have the best chance of luring him from OKC. If not, Al Horford or Ryan Anderson would be great consolation prizes that would fit on this roster perfectly.

Why you should rank me high:
Overall it really comes down to this: I didn't mess with what was successful. The Warriors are still incredibly deep, have great defenders at 4 of their starting positions, and have role players who are incredible at their defined roles. Overall, a core of Curry+Klay+Carroll+Gobert has more upside than Curry+Klay+Draymond+Bogut. Also consider that the prior core was going to stay the same over the next several years due to Draymond's massive contract, whereas in this case I have a chance for Durant - which would BY FAR make the Warriors the biggest title favorites in the game (because we already are contenders) and at the very least we should come out with a great consolation prize (yet again, could you imagine Al Horford on this team)?
