E-Mail:

Head Coach:
David Joerger

Rotation:
PG: Kyrie Irving (32)/Goran Dragic (10)/Avery Bradley (6)/Caris LeVert (GM)
SG: Goran Dragic (20)/Avery Bradley(16)/Jordan Adams (12)/Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk (GM)
SF: Aaron Gordon (23) | Andre Robertson (25)/Justin Jackson (GM)
PF:Jonas Jerebko (20)/Brandan Wright (10)/Myles Turner(7)/Aaron Gordon (11)/Kris Humphries (GM)
C: Myles Turner (23)/Nikola Pekovic (20)/Brandan Wright (5)Walter Tavares (GM)
GM= Garbage Minutes

Backcourt:
The major players are Kyrie/Dragic/Bradley. This way there will always be two playmakers on the floor. Kyrie more of the scorer mold, Dragic of the facilitator mold, and Bradley as off-guard staunch defender. Jordan Adams will play the sparkplug role from the bench. My two backcourt rookies LeVert and Svi are going to get garbage minutes to allow them to get used to the game.

Forwards/Bigs:
-My wings (Aaron Gordon/ Andre Roberson) are both striving to be the best defender in the league so they will bring the energy night in and out while being able to guard 1-4 on any given set bringing great defensive versatility to my roster.
-Jerebko is my reliable stretch 4 while Kyrie and Dragic spam pick and rolls and gordon cuts baseline.
-Myles Turner is an intriguing prospect because he is a rim protector who can play stretch 5 and provide killer spacing while sharing the floor with Jerebko but also play as a stretch 4 next to Pekovic providing rim protection and spacing for Pek's low post game.
-Brandon Wright is my nimble rim protector and high energy big.
-Gordon will get some time to play small ball PF allowing the team to push the pace.
-Kris Humphries brings hustle rebounding and a reliable mid range jumper to add another dimension to the team in case of injuries.
-Walter Tavares will get garbage minutes to get accustom to his game in the NBa and provide needed length. Justin Jackson as a rookie will get garbage time.

Offense: Think Mav's pick and roll intensive offense with Dirk multiplied by two due the sun's two pg offense:
http://grantland.com/the-triangle/the-art-of-the-wildly-efficient-dallas-mavericks/
With Jerebko and Turner, there will always be a stretch big on the floor (most of the time two of them). My backcourt all can shoot the 3 ball and will be spamming pick and rolls with 2 ball-handlers on the floor at all times. Both of my wings are potential elite defenders who know their role in slashing, cutting to the rim, getting opportune buckets. My roster has high energy bigs who can finish pick and rolls on a high level. With the amount of spacing on the floor, I also have Pek as a reliable low post vet presence who will have ample room to work in the post.

Defense:
I have multiple (potential) elite defenders playing major minutes in my rotation. Bradley is a ballhound at the guard position while both Andre Roberson & Aaron Gordon can guard 1-4 effectively. Both Wright and Turner are rim protectors while Tavares is groomed to be one with his length.

Brandon Wright Facts (2015):
-used his length, vertical jump and timing to block more shots per 36 minutes than Andre Drummond, Nerlens Noel and Dwight Howard
-Wright's ability to slither through the defense after setting a screen set up him for several alley-oop dunks, a big reason why his true shooting percentage ranked third in the league behind only Kyle Korver and Tyson Chandler.
-Over 46 percent of his boards were "contested", per NBA.com, a higher rate than Anthony Davis, DeAndre Jordan and Rudy Gobert

Myles Turner Blocks:

Jonas Jerebko Effect:
-Jerebko finished a tidy 40.6% from beyond the arc in his time with the Celtics, and this dangerous shooting ability from the “4” allowed Isaiah Thomas to dart around ball screens with clear paths to the basket.
-He can scoot around pretty well on defense, and the Celtics actually became 8 points stingier p100p on that end with Jerebko in the game; the Celtics allowed only 94.7 points p100p with him in the lineup, stiffer than Golden State’s league-best 98.2 mark by 3-and-a-half points.
-The Celtics’ offense totally transformed with Jerebko; over 40% of their shots came from 3pt range when he was on the floor. That’s to be expected playing alongside another stretch big man in Kelly Olynyk.
-It was beautiful to watch as Thomas wheeled and probed around pick after pick after pick. If even the slightest crease opened up, he’d attack full force and either put up one of those funky, twisting layups or find the open man spotting up on the perimeter. If Thomas were a pile of dry tinder poised to combust, then Jerebko is that first spark, ready to set him aflame. Thomas’ offensive rating ballooned to a staggering 116.3 when he shared the parquet with Jerebko, up from (a still staggering) 109.2 across all lineups.

Now imagine the upgrade from Thomas to Dragic & Kyrie as scorers and the increased rim protection upgrading from stretch big Olynyk to stretch big Turner 8-)

Andre Roberson's Defense:
-His defensive numbers were off the chart—he ranked fourth among NBA shooting guards in DRPM (3.30) and held his opponents to 4.6% worse shooting numbers than they converted against other competition.
-When Roberson is on the court, the Thunder allow just 101.1 points p100p. That’s the best individual defensive rating on the team and would make OKC the second best defense in the league behind the Warriors
http://www.sheridanhoops.com/2015/01/31/eisenberg-andre-roberson-is-oklahoma-citys-x-factor-yes-really/

Gordon's Impact: He is projected to be a player in a similar mold as Shawn Marion, with less scoring but stronger defense
-According to 82Games, he held opposing small forwards and power forwards to respective player efficiency ratings of 16.3 and 11.8
-In three (summer league) games, Gordon averaged 21.7 points, 11.7 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.6 blocks per game, while shooting 50 percent from the field and from beyond the arc.
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2538154-evolving-in-the-matrix-aaron-gordon-should-follow-the-shawn-marion-blueprint

^ indicates a better jumper

The Rooks:
-LeVert is a guard who can play 1-3, run the pick&roll, solid jumper, potential on defense
-Svi is a euro player in the Manu Ginobili mold
-Tavares is a mobile 7'3" rim protecting center
-Justin Jackson is a scorer who needs to fill out his frame with the ability to be solid on defense

2017 Average Age: 25
-My core players are all young with a good mix of young veteran role players (All around 30) who all have their specific roles leaving room to grow as team plays together for muliple years

Depth Chart:
PG: Kyrie Irving | Avery Bradley | Caris LeVert
SG: Goran Dragic| Jordan Adams | Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk
SF: Aaron Gordon | Andre Robertson | Justin Jackson
PF:Jonas Jerebko | Brandan Wright | Kris Humphries
C: Myles Turner | Nikola Pekovic | Walter Tavares

-Grizzlies sign Jonas Jerebko on a $1.5 million for 1 year contract
-Grizzlies waive Isaia Cordinier

Trade Block
I have decided to flip the grizzlies philosophy and make this a faster paced offensive team. My backcourt is pretty much set for the future with Irving, Dragic, Bradley taking the bulk of the minutes with Adam's taking the rest. Gordon & Turner are my frontcourt of the future but they are still developing.
Since Grizzlies don't receive any love in free agency, I am looking to get a scorer at the SF/PF positions

Direction:
In the short term, remain competitive, in the long term, develop a core that will grow together and compete for years to come similar to the current Warriors and Spurs.

2016 Outcome:
The Memphis Grizzlies played well and managed to secure the 6th seed. Aaron Gordon took a step forward in his offensive development and Turner competed for ROY.
