Get em in please guys, let's finish out now. Thanks.

oh, description for those who don't know, please post your entire updated roster with picks and everything and then add a small explanation as to what you did, what your goal was, what you did to get there and why you deserve to win. In a day or two I'll open up the final rankings thread and we'll all vote for every team but our own, that'll make sense when it comes.

Anthony Davis/ Ersan Ilyasova (unguaranteed)/ Boris Diaw (unguaranteed)
Nikola Vucevic/David Lee (UFA)/ Alexis Ajinca
Guaranteed salary: $49,427,765

Coach: Ettore Messina

Draft Picks
2017
1st-None | 2nd- Own (top 55 protected to Minny)
2018
1st- none | 2nd- Own
2019
1st- None | 2nd- own
2020
1st- own | 2nd- Own

Honestly, Out of my three teams I'm most pleased with what I've set up here. I jettisoned a bunch of mediocre players that didn't fit together and managed to set up a team with an identity and future. Unlike the other rebuilding teams We even made the playoffs. Ettore Messina believes in a ball movement system that swings from side to side but works through the post, it's an ideal offense for Anthony Davis and maximizes his unique skillset that allows him to score efficiently despite never holding onto the ball. Since we're playing inside out Vuc is the perfect center pairing, not clogging the lane but also capable of being a secondary option while AD covers his defensive weaknesses.

Dante Exum is our PGOTF, nobody knows exactly what he'll turn into, but what he already is is a willing passer and good defender. IMO he's going to be a more athletic Chauncey Billups, but even if he isn't that's fine because we have a perfectly adequate starter in Collison, and Exum can backup two positions.

On the wings going forward we have KCP and Stanley Johnson. KCP is already showing his 3/D ability and long term will be Danny Green with better defense. Stanley Johnson is going to be a more efficient Ron Artest. The guy is a flat out stud and will end up being the third best player from this draft. He gives us our 4th lockdown defender and another capable three point shooter and willing passer, plus can defend 2/3/4.

Off the bench we have three point shooters galore, the ball movement and AD will occupy defenses and force them to chase leading to a lot of wide open shots. Nobody on the team massages the ball, and nobody complains about touches. Honestly, I think this team could have really surprised some people if the playoffs had actually been played.

This was a quick rebuild that set the Pelicans up for a long term shot at contention. We have a significant advantage over every other rebuilding team because we aren't HOPING rookies become stars. We already have the future best player in the world, plus solid guys at every position even if they don't develop significantly more. Beyond that we have another trump card: 2 HUGE unguaranteed contracts. It's unfortunate we didn't do free agency, because OKC is stuck with an aging team and pushing against the hard cap. Durant would be hard pressed to find a better situation than coming and playing with Davis in an offense that would utilize both of their skills exceptionally. This team is set up to steal KD from OKC and win the next 8 championships in a row, but even without him we'll still be challenging yearly and probably end up with one or two.
“If you're getting stops and you're making threes and the other team's not scoring, that's when you're going to see a huge point difference there,” coach Billy Donovan said.

WRITE UP:

We have been the Lakers 5 or 6 times in the last 8 years during these games - we generally always compete... But this time we wanted to rebuild.

In RL I wanted the Lakers to take Okafor as did many RL Lakers fans. Everyone said whoever the Timberwolves didn't take between Okafor and KAT, the Lakers would take the other one. I was happy with that. Although I believe in Russell - I wasn't happy with the pick.

As a Lakera fan - I traded for all 3 players - which was an amazing feat in itself.

Tell me the last time one of the top 3 picks wasn't an absolute superstar....

Adding Hezonja (Kobe JR.) and Mudiay (Jason Kidd 2.0) was just icing on the cake of this rebuild.

TO KEEP IT SHORT=

This team is stacked.

Enough cap space for about 2 max guys in the offseason.

Tier 1/A prospects

I've played these games since 2007, and this is one of the best rebuilds I have ever seen. Plain and Simple.

LAKERS DESERVE TO WIN BEST REBUILD AND BEST OVERALL.

VOTE LAL!!!

Write-Up
The Chicago Bulls goal was to win a championship this season, but unfortunately that didn't work out as planned after losing in the second round. I feel like we got robbed (which my opponent did agree with might I add), but oh well, **** happens lol. I hope I can change voters mind on why I deserve to win the game overall with this write-up since I believe my team is not only ready to win now, but in the future as well. I knew I had to change my roster after playoff failures in the past few years for the Chicago Bulls. It was time for a change since this past team wasn't going to win anything and with players aging as well as injury issues, there was no time better than now. I didn't want to completely rebuild with some solid young players on my team already so I just had to make some tweaks to get better now/in the future.

It all started out with the draft when I ended up having the 15th and 30th pick. At that time, I did not know what kind of team I wanted to build and I decided to wait and see who was available for me during those picks. I ended up getting two quality players who are still young and were able to produce last season in Teague/Young. Once I got Teague I knew for sure Rose had to go and it was time for Teague to lead the show in Chicago. I would take Teague over Rose right now.

Gasol/Noah were good front-court starters for my team, but not great. I looked at big men around the NBA who would work well with Teague/Young. I wanted to go younger and more defensive side especially with having Teague/Young. I wanted a new franchise/superstar player on my team who ended up being Gasol. I ended up getting two younger players in Ibaka/Gasol who would be monsters inside defensively and can be effective on offense as well. I was ecstatic to get these two front-court players who would work well with each other and overall for my team. It ended up costing me the Rose, Gasol, and Noah to get Ibaka, but I also was able to get Adams, Beal, and Williams in this trade. For the Gasol trade, I wanted to keep Butler and let Beal go, but Memphis wouldn't budge so I had to deal Butler away in addition to Niko. I was looking at Cousins as well, but Kings wanted both Beal/Butler, which I was opposed too. I think the addition of M Gasol+Ibaka>P Gasol+Noah was a huge boost on my team. Not to mention Beal or Young over Dunleavy as well. On a side note, it's Beal's contract year this season as well so he will go out there with a chip on his shoulder and prove that he deserves a max contract.

I needed a new voice for the Chicago Bulls and Fred Hoiberg wasn't the right coach to lead this team with no experience in the NBA as a coach so I fired him. I wanted somebody who knew what it took to win and had experience in the NBA. Jeff Van Gundy was the perfect coach for this team as he would be able to handle the media in Chicago and has a great defensive philosophy, which would work well for my team since it's focused more so on the defense than offense.

Another positive factor that stands out for my team is my depth. I have potential starters in my second unit in D Williams, Shumpert, Dunleavy, Gibson, and Adams. I did a mix and match of offense/defense in this second unit with D Williams/Dunleavy leading the offense while Shumpert/Adams leading the defense.

By going younger overall and having players with ton of potential, I think I have a great future ahead as well. Some future players I have on my roster are Galloway, McDermott, Adams, Portis, Rabb, and Zipser. These players can definitely be solid contributors for the Bulls in the future. Not to mention that my main contributors or starters in the future who are already proven: Teague is only 27 (entering his prime), Bradley Beal is ONLY 22 years old (not in his prime), Shumpert is 25 (not in his prime), Young is 27 (entering his prime), and Ibaka is only 25 (not in his prime). The future is looking very bright!

In conclusion, I deserve to win this game because...

1) I believe I have a great team NOW. I have a solid core of five starters who are about to reach their prime or in their prime who are all unselfish proven two way players with Teague, Beal, Young, Ibaka, and Gasol. They are all great on the defensive side, and are not too shabby on the offensive side of the ball either. They would work well together and feed off each other with proving spacing and ball movement, which would be key. Teague/Beal on the outside while Ibaka/Gasol on the inside would work great. The fit is really nice here.

2) JVG is one hell of a coach. He ranks one of the best in coaching defense, and with my team being more defensive, they will only get better on that side of the ball. He has been in a ton of playoff series and knows what it takes to win.

3) I have so much depth on this team with a mixture of offense and defense from top to bottom starting with Deron Williams and ending with Nene Hilario. I can't really say anything bad about any of my players. My team goes 17 deep who will all contribute and make an impact on this team. It will be tough to get playing time for all my players due to all of them being very deserving, but I will do my best. Role-players are key to winning championships, and my team has plenty.

4) My FUTURE is looking bright with my average age of the Bulls still in mid 20s if not younger. I have proven players such as Beal, Ibaka, and Teague who I know I can trust to win now and in the future. The Chicago Bulls should be able to contend for years to come. I can definitely see a few banners raised at the United Centers in the years to come.

Clippers-
I think this team really speaks for itself. Coming off of an NBA championship we retain every player except Josh Smith and Chuck Hayes. Doc Rivers had already gotten rid of a few picks so in order to get some youth we brought in Parsons and Barnes, this ensures we'll have our championship core together for a few more years. The biggest challenge facing us was our lack of depth, something we managed to rectify by trading away newly drafted Carmelo Anthony for Parsons, Beverley and Motiejunas allowing us to find a grouping of players that fit around our big three of Paul/Griffin/Jordan. Going forward this team will age, but we added Buddy Hield who took over 7 threes per game last year and should be a solid off the bench scorer for years to come, as well as pg Isaiah Taylor, who should be an upgrade to Austin Rivers in a few years.

There's really not a lot to say here, this team is holding the O'brien trophy.

76ers

This team is set up to grow into a dominant team long term. We have young, productive players at every position, plus superstar potential at the 3 and 4. This is perhaps the deepest bench in the league with McLemore, Roberson and WCS all being potential starters that play exceptional defense and a healthy Patty Mills being a top tier backup pg. most importantly, we retained superstar potential while we also made the playoffs this year. We don't have many picks over the next few years, but our entire lineup is 27 and under and will continue to grow together. We also will have room to max out free agents, and while Durant won't be looking to play here we'll be able to pay second tier guys which is all we need going forward.

Phoenix Suns

Eric Bledsoe / Jarrett Jack / Ronnie Price
Kobe Bryant / Lou Williams / Archie Goodwin
Joe Johnson / PJ Tucker / Sonny Weems
Dirk Nowitzki / Kenneth Faried / Domantas Sabonis / Jon Leuer
Tyson Chandler / Kosta Koufos / Henry Sims

Summary:

Suns is a difficult team to start with. No top tier talent but not bad enough to tank. So I have set myself a rather easy goal: to put the Suns on to the Playoffs map again. I would have needed add some veteran talent to push the team into the playoffs (last time the team got into the Playoffs was 2010?). And I did it.

Now:

I made 3 main moves to put the team back into the Playoffs:

1. Drafting Dirk Nowitzki, Joe Johnson, Arron Afflalo in the contraction draft.
2. Trading some "meh" talents for Kobe.
3. Trading Afflalo, Len for Faried, Jack.

In a rather stacked Western Conference, we managed to get the 6th seed, which have achieved the goal. If this were 2011, we would have won the champ. Too bad it's 2015, but "seeing" these guys making one last push in this parallel universe is fun.

Future:

In making our moves, we sacrifice basically no future assets:
1. We keep all of our own picks.
2. Len was probably the best talent that we give up which we get Faried in return, who is a superior player.

3 of our starters (Dirk, Kobe, Joe) as well as Jarrett Jack, and some bench fodder (Price, Leuer, Sims) would expire in 2016. With these guys leaving, we would no longer be a playoffs contender so we may as well trade Chandler and Lou Williams too to start a full rebuild. For the 2016-2017 season, we might probably roll with the following rotation:

Eric Bledsoe / ?
Bogdan Bogdanovic / Archie Goodwin
PJ Tucker / Sonny Weems
Kenneth Faried / Domantas Sabonis
Kosta Koufos / Henry Sims

With Bledsoe and Faried being our best players, this would guarantee us a top 5 pick in the 2017 draft to kick off our rebuild.

Overall:

Didn't do a particularly good job per my standard, but at least the team (1) got into the Playoffs again; (2) keep some young talents (Bledsoe, Bogdan, Goodwin, Sabonis); and (3) maintain flexibility to do a full rebuild in the future.

Boston Celtics

PG: Michael Carter-Williams / Terry Rozier / Tyler Ennis
SG: Victor Oladipo / Alec Burks / Furkan Korkmaz / [Evan Turner (FA)]
SF: Otto Porter / Tony Snell / Troy Williams / [Gerald Henderson (FA)]
PF: Skal Labissiere / Enes Kanter / Adreian Payne
C: Cheick Diallo / Robert Upshaw / Kelly Olynyk / [Miles Plumlee (FA)] / [JaVale McGee (FA)]

Note: I took over the team mid-way through the game. My predecessor had done nothing apart from drafting Alec Burks, Aaron Gordon and Kris Humphries in the contraction draft.

Summary:

Picking up the team mid-way through doesn't help, as most teams have their core set already. This Celtics team also do not have as many assets as in the real life due to the contraction of Brooklyn and Dallas. :banghead:

Celtics is similar to Suns in a way that both teams have no clear cut top talent. The difference is that I decided to go the full rebuild mode for the Celtics, which we succeeded.

Now:

Here are the significant moves that I have done:
1. Marcus Smart for MCW, Tyus Jones and a 1st - which IMO is a heck of a trade because MCW is a much better and proven player than Smart while only being a couple of years older.
2. Aaron Gordon for Adreian Payne and 4 1sts - another good trade to net 4 1sts for a rather unproven young player.
3. Some mediocre talents for Enes Kanter and Cameron Payne - Kanter is a young big man who already average 18/8 whom I envisaged to be a key member of my rebuild (was my starter for 2015-2016 and would be the team's 3rd big in the long term).
4. Avery Bradley, Jae Crowder for Jrue Holiday, Indiana 2016 1st - Jrue was the best player in the trade and I also got a 1st in return.
5. Amir Johnson, Omri Casspi for Otto Porter, Tony Snell - I was never going to keep Amir and Omri, so getting two young players in return is good too.
6. Jrue Holiday for 3 1sts - getting three 1sts for an injury-riddled player is again good return.
7. Cameron Payne, RJ Hunter, two 1sts for Oladipo - Oladipo was the best talent in the trade with no doubt.

And with our tanking, we got 4 1st round picks and 5 2nd round picks in the 2016 NBA draft.

Future:

Taking a close look to my starting lineup:
PG: MCW - best PG from the 2013 draft
SG: Oladipo - best SG from the 2013 draft
SF: Otto Porter - 2nd best SF from the 2013 draft
PF: Skal Labissiere - best PF from the 2016 draft
C: Cheick Diallo - best C from the 2016 draft

So basically the team gathered the best or 2nd best prospect at each position from the respective draft class (2013 and 2016).

Then off the bench, we also have:
PG: Terry Rozier - touted as the next Dame Lillard with his killer instinct
SG: Alec Burks - who is a proven 6th man in the league
SF: Tony Snell - a solid 3 & D young player who played well for the Bulls last season
PF: Enes Kanter - a young big who already averaged 18/8 last season
C: Robert Upshaw - touted as the next Hassan Whiteside with his rebounding and shotblocking ability.

My top 10 players have so much room to develop, and we also have tons of draft picks in the future:

2017 1st: OWN
2017 2nd: OWN; Cleveland; Clippers; Minnesota
2018 1st: OWN; Memphis (top 5 protected; if not conveyed then extinguishes)
2018 2nd: OWN (to OKC if falls within 56-60)
2019 1st: OWN; Lakers (Top 4 protected; If not conveyed then Lakers will send 2019 POR 2nd)
2019 2nd: OWN (to Miami if falls within 56-60)
2020 1st: OWN; Memphis
2020 2nd: OWN; Miami
2021 1st: OWN; Memphis; Lakers (Top 4 protected; If not conveyed then Lakers will send 2021 LAL 2nd)
2021 2nd: OWN

Overall:

IMO the real life Celtics lucked out to get into the Playoffs last season - but they have also reached their ceiling with all those mediocre talent. By going into a full rebuild and gathering best prospects at each position from the 2013 and 2016 drafts (as well as other quality young players off the bench), this team can go much further than the real life Celtics in the future.

I made a real fun team out of Memphis.

Toronto was fine as is, didn't get any offers I liked.
