Modern Era Fantasy Draft Game: General Discussion

Post#1 » by Hawk Eye » Thu May 5, 2016 6:57 pm

Feel free to discuss anything related to the game in this thread. Whether that's commenting on people's draft picks, order, specific players, etc.

The only thing I ask is that you please DO NOT mention certain players until they have been selected. This makes the game more fair for everyone and doesn't give anyone any ideas of who to draft.

DO NOT mention undrafted players until they have been selected.

:D

Btw, you got the exact spot I wanted in the draft. Middle of the draft is the best place to be imo.

Ready for this draft to jump off, guess this will let me watch Captain America tonight without checking my phone eight times.

+ 1 to Chuck and PMOTT - Name dropping is a huge pet peeve of mine. I hate it and it ruins games. Keep quiet.

That's pretty much the spot I wanted if not top 3. I like not having to agonize over which of my top 2 will drop to the next pick.

Yeah i'm just not sure how I'm going to approach it... I'm not gonna be able to get a star out of it so I need to play it correctly.

Im sure there will easily still be a star left, maybe not a low usage star, but someone you can easily build a team around.

Yea there should easily be stars available throughout the entire first round.

Pft pick 12. Not great. Wanted top 6, I'm sure you guys can guess the names.

I feel like the high picks have a big advantage, but we'll see what I can pull out. A lot of possibilities.

I'm excited :D

I have an idea of the kind of team I want to build but it all depends whether the guy I want falls to me at 10. If not then I will need a plan B, or C, maybe even D

Will be interesting to see how quickly role players start getting snatched up.

Wish I could move down a couple of spots. I know I'm supposed to take one guy, but I really don't want him. I'm just going to hope for odd drafting and that I luck into someone who has no business being there.

How do you know who the one guy is? You are pick 6, so maybe I'm missing something but I don't think the first 5 picks are set in stone.

That said, I do see what is for a me a clear top 6.

Yeah, it is tough. Conveniently, there are 12 players who I feel confident are true superstar level. However, I'm not sure if all of them would be the right pick in this draft's context.

So I am assuming that we will draft a head coach correct?

I count about 16-18 +5.5 and above players. You are in a good spot.

It's more a problem if you get left with having to take 2 guys with 20+ FGA's. But I see a pretty clear strategy for you dependent on the right guy being there which I think he will.

This is correct.

Also, I am so getting killed in this game. So many people already knowing who will go at various spots in the draft. I still have no idea who I'm targeting at 8. I mean I know the 2 guys I desperately want, but I don't see either quite getting to me.....
