-This will be a snake draft.

-We will be drafting 8 players and 1 head coach

-When a person drafts a certain player, another person can't draft them and just switch the year/season they played--when a player is drafted they are gone from the pool.

I'm taking 2011 Dirk.

Ultimately you want your team to have a certain identity and this is the one I wanted to have. Postseason matters people!

Gah this was a painful selection.

Chuck has informed me that he won't be available to make his selection so I am posting his decision for him. Another guy i wanted...sigh.

Kobe Bryant

Was planning on taking a big, but I just can't pass up on the sheer talent of Kobe Bryant. Year: undecided (probably leaning towards 07-08)

So I came into this with a plan and vision in mind but that failed when Duncan, Dirk, and Garnett all got snatched up. Had to go back to the drawing board and come up with plan D (E?)

2014-15 Anthony Davis

Image

ORTG = 122.1 (7th)
DRTG = 100.2 (12th)
Offensive Win Shares = 9.9
Defensive Win Shares = 4.2
Total Win Shares = 14.1 (4th)
PPG = 24.4 (4th)
RPG = 10.2 (8th)
BPG = 2.9 (league best)
PER = 30.8 (league best)
FGA = 17.6

Finished 5th in the league in MVP voting

I really wanted a two way big that has the length to bother the other GOAT bigs taken before me and I feel im getting that with this pick. I really like the versatility of being able to play AD at either PF/C in certain situations. Getting a 2 way go to superstar option here and under 20 FGA is a steal. The real life Pelicans havent been able to surround him with the proper suporting cast and that is exactly what i will be aiming to do in this draft. I have a player in mind that I'm hoping falls to me next round that can really elevate AD's game to a whole new level. So nobody take him please :D

There are several players I like at this spot but instead of changing my mind every second, my pick is:

I am going with Kevin Durant. After a bit of thought, it was the only decision. There are no others available with the volume and efficiency combination, and only a couple in history for that matter. He allows versatility on both sides of the ball. Good man to man defender, in the upper percentiles, and not a detriment on that end of the court. But the man is seriously underrated post injury and one of the most dynamic scorers and offensive players of all time. However, his skill-set allows for a lot of flexibility, whereas certain other players need the ball in their hands to be effective. It´s possible or perhaps even likely that I would have taken Durant if I had pick 7.

I would have liked a big but all of the ones I would want over Durant (IMO) went higher than my pick. PG isn't traditionally the crucial aspect of a championship team, much more likely to be a big or a wing.

Year undecided.

Dwyane Wade at 14. He was in the top 10 on my big board. It was a rather easy decision for me.

Year is TBD, although we're leaning towards 2009, his best year ever.

I select Dwight Howard; year TBD, although the pic in a Magic uniform wasn't by accident.

For my back to back picks i'll take two of the most efficient, crafty offensive players of the era. Combined they only take up around 23 FGA but they can still lead a top offense.

First, Steve Nash.

Second, Manu Ginobili.

To be perfectly clear, I'm picking my point guard, NOT my head coach!

I select Jason Kidd, year TBD.
