1980 to Present Fantasy Draft Discussion Thread

Post#1 » by Snakebites » Tue Jun 21, 2016 1:41 am

I guess current convention dictates we have a separate thread for discussion. Please direct any comments, questions, or concerns about format here. Signups on the other hand should be directed to the already labeled thread.

I may have missed it but I didn't see any mention of how you were going to handle rebuttals in the sign up thread when it comes time for playoffs.

I am a-okay with what was happening towards the end of the last game. Discussion is allowed, by participants and otherwise, but voters are only obliged to read the 500 word or less writeup. No discussion or voting permitted prior to both write-ups being posted. I don't think any formalized system is needed, and they aren't mandatory writing nor mandatory reading for voters.

I figured there would be plenty of time to update that later, the draft will take at least a week.

There are only 2 spots left in the game. I think we'll probably be able to start today assuming we can get 2 more people, though I'll probably implement some sort of grace period before the clock actually starts.

How long will each selection have to make a pick?

6 hours, unless your pick falls during sleeping hours.

I personally think a 3rd party should oversee the PMs for a future draft pick so individuals in the game can make picks without being guilty of taking someone's guy.
East #1 Draft Picks: Fultz, Banchero, Wiggins, Cuninigham
West #1 Draft Picks: Edwards, WIlliamson, Ayton, Towns

You can actually tell if someone has viewed a PM you've sent. I won't be viewing the PM's anybody sends until after I'm no longer in a position to steal someone's pick.

Okay. I'll be creating a draft thread shortly when I randomize the order. I'll also be creating a roster thread. Would be great if the roster thread could get a sticky when its up, and we can unsticky the signup thread now, as we won't be needing it anymore.

Okay, the draft thread is up, but I think we won't have any clock today.

People can pick if they want though, starting now. There just won't be any accountability in day 1- clock starts tomorrow.

To be perfectly honest I was pretty disappointed to be in a similar draft position to last time, I was hoping to get to play a totally different way as compared to last time. I guess maybe I can still do that.

I am absolutely thrilled with my draft position. Out of all of the fantasy draft games I've participated in, I have never had a bottom pick. I always end up with a middle pick or a top pick so it's nice to have a change of pace for once :D

Well with no trading, I can make a pick and relax for quite some time I'd imagine....

Yeah, I don't really want to spring a clock on people the first day, but I also want people to be able to get things going right away if they want to. You can make your pick now, but there's no clock.

I won't hold things up. I'm just taking Mike and moving on.

I think we should go ahead and establish a draft pick tracker thread. Or just include which people drafted who in the original thread.
