2016 September GMAT: Sign Up Thread

Post#1 » by DroppinDimes » Sun Aug 21, 2016 8:24 pm

Not sure how we're going to run this game yet. May do 15 teams and everyone double up or may do a contraction game. Either way, if you're interested, please sign up here. Add your email and a top 5 list of teams you'd want to be.

Update - We've decided to run a contraction game. The plan is to contract the following teams:

Golden State Warriors (oh yes we did)
Oklahoma City Thunder
Atlanta Hawks
Dallas Mavericks
Brooklyn Nets
Phoenix Suns

The contraction draft order will be in reverse order of standings from the previous season.

Let's shoot for at least 15 owners. So in addition to your email and top 5 list, please state whether you want 1 or 2 teams as some owners will need to double up. If your preference is 1, let me know if you'd be okay with 2 if need be.

Jazz
Celtics
Pacers
76ers
Knicks

Those are my top 5 but I'm not one to get upset about my team. I was just Houston so that is only team Id really like to avoid to do something different. im happy to take 2 teams to get this going.

I want someone to pick the worst two possible situations in the league, regardless of conference, and I'll take those. :D

I want to say this now, I think everyone who's signed up thus far has a good history and will be a great GM, but I'm really serious about this:

This GMAT is ONLY for committed, serious players. If you're on the fence about playing, don't know if you'll have enough time, are likely to get frustrated or bored and bail at some point in-game, then I'm sorry, but please DO NOT sign up. By signing up YOU ARE COMMITTING TO PLAY AND STAY VERY ACTIVE THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE GAME. This doesn't mean you need to make a ton of trades but it does mean you need to stay involved and keep your roster updated, in addition to answering all e-mails. In return I promise this will be a well thought out and structured game with a specific schedule that will not change and plenty of updates/warnings about significant dates. DD and I are determined to commision and run a tight, efficient game and require the same commitment from every player. Let's work together to make this a great game for everyone! Thank you.

Wow I see you've contracted the best and worse situations and mixed in some mediocre ones in the contraction.
